JAC price just went up

Anybody who saw him play today would be super impressed. This guy is better than Latrell Mitchell and if Wests Tigers don't sign him very soon there will be a lot of unhappy disappointed Wests tigers supporters.

He would be a handy acquisition without doubt, but people need to look at our team in context - our halves suck and our fullback lacks speed. JAC would come back to the field a hell of a lot. We need to start somewhere though.

Let him play fullback

He is not a FB - I see him as a winger.

Can't see anything on Burton been given permission?

Either way i hope the no poaching deal is correct otherwise if it was between the two of us, you would have to think bulldogs would be favourites

Some bloke on here (CCTW, I think?) who I'd guess knows an agent said he reckons Burton is 100% done to us and Staines was 80% as our offers for each blow the Panthers out of the water.

Also knew Asu was coming to us before that was announced. That's the only news we've heard. Pom also said a speedster, not Saab, was deep in talks with us. Could be JAC, could be Staines, could be Johnston for all we know.

Don't think anyone has said Burton 100% to us.

Late mail he's off the the bulldogs, they're using some of the Foran cash, wisely so. Wish we could do the same, that again Ivan, we just can't compete.

As long as he doesn’t cost us longer term solutions, I would be talking to Foran. Not long term or for big money, but he is better than what we have and other suggested options like Seizer

That’s a shame if true. He would have been a good signing. If we don’t manage to sign a half you just know Benji will play on, which will be a disaster.

I’d agree to not sign another half next season unless Reynolds leaves.

Our young guys gonna need some forwards and some speed in the back.

We Make do next year and build up forwards and backs

Benj not playing but with roster can’t afford another half until one leaves or off contract

Tigers to shuffle Benji out door despite his desire for extra year
By Michael Chammas

Benji Marshall's time at the Wests Tigers is coming to an end. In the coming days, Tigers officials will sit down with the club legend to lay out their vision for the future. Unfortunately for Marshall, who believes he has one more year to offer, he isn’t part of it.

It’s not that Marshall is over the hill. He has shown in 2020 he still has plenty to offer. But the Tigers have $1 million to spend on five roster spots for next season and too much money tied up in their halves to justify spending $300,000 on another playmaker.
It’s about salary-cap management. Josh Reynolds isn’t going anywhere, despite the club’s best endeavours, and neither is Luke Brooks. Between them they take up $1.6m in the salary cap and it is on coach Michael Maguire to make that work.

There’s also junior star Jock Madden, who has been likened to a young Luke Keary. Madden will make his NRL debut as early as this week as the coach looks to blood some youth in the final month of the season.
There’s also a case that Adam Doueihi’s best position is five-eighth, while the club also has Billy Walters on contract for next year. Co-captain Moses Mbye has played plenty of five-eighth as well, leaving the club with no shortage of options next year. Adding Marshall to that list makes little sense, especially when they are in dire need of leadership in the forwards and strike in the outside backs.

The club has been walking on eggshells for weeks for fear of disrespecting the club’s greatest player. It’s why, even with their finals hopes dead following Saturday night’s loss to the Panthers, Marshall will still feature in the final month of the season despite the club preparing to inform the veteran they are heading in a different direction.
Marshall may not be happy, but the Tigers know they can’t afford to allow emotion to dictate their next move. The Tigers indicated earlier in the year that there would be a spot for him at the club in 2021 if he wanted to play on. A lot has changed since then.

The club isn’t convinced Reynolds, who has one more season on his deal worth $800,000, is the answer next year. Playing him over the last month may finally answer that question, or at the very least allow him to show he still has something to offer a rival club willing to pay part of his salary next year.
You would expect Marshall to walk into a media job, like Cooper Cronk, at Fox Sports. However, at this point, he isn’t ready to hang up the boots. A club such as Newcastle or Manly, both on the lookout for a five-eighth, could benefit from his services. Marshall may provide the experience to help those respective clubs emerge as genuine title contenders next year.

The Tigers will begin planning for 2021 from this week. Hooker Harry Grant may not see a lot of football in the last month. With Grant expected to head back to Melbourne next year, the club will look to give 18-year-old Jake Simpkin a crack alongside Jacob Liddle.

Burton is a gun should be the number 1 target, another good buy would Welsh, be also a couple of big mobile forwards, hope Madden and Simpkins get a run this weekend.

As if Marshall is even suggesting to go another year, clearly no care for the future of this club.

We need to try Doueihi at 5/8.

6. Doueihi
7. Madden

Brooks and Reynolds out of the team please.

JAC isn’t the answer, no point in paying 600k+ for a finisher when you cannot create opportunities. He isn’t a fullback either and signing him would be at the expense of Nofoaluma but cost double.

We need an experienced head in the forwards, we have a young pack. Packer needs to go. We need to get Jesse Bromwich on board as soon as possible, and Christian Welch if we can. That is a start.

Why would he? He has a comfortable income here.
Regards Marshall, it will be a sad day if the club has to force him out, but the time has come. The same rocks and diamonds are there.
His decision to kick on the 3rd last week instead of putting pressure on the panthers was the last rock for me.
It's time to go prospecting.

Makes sense. Like The POM said there’s too much money tied up in halves already, we should only sign one if we can move Reynolds or someone else on. Benji should retire don’t play somewhere else

I saw recently someone mentioned Zane Camroux was on a development contract next year, he was asked that on Instagram/Twitter and said he wasn’t

Penrith appear to do a lot of recruiting in country areas.-burton,is from the bush as is there second rower- the nuggety bloke.- whatever his name is.
Of course this is nothing new- sydney clubs have been doing it forever - madden and mcintrye are both bush boys.
Les boyd, jimmy leis, Ray brown john donnelly and tommy are all success stories- as im sure the balmain side of the merger have had their country recruits in their past.
If wests tigers are considered a damaged brand as far as prospective current nrl recruits are concerned,,country nsw
,queensland are the areas the recruitment team should be scouring.Young, fit and hungry young blokes please.
I would rather see 3 or 4 new faces like mcintyre in the team next year than a rehash of this year.
Gotta try something new.

Perhaps the club is still waiting for the squad nos to be confirmed?

Imo Reynolds, Benji and Brooks all have to go.

No use just putting someone new alongside Brooks, we will do ZERO as long as Brooks is one of our playmakers.
We need a new halves pairing
