FULLBACK: Albert Hopoate, Nicho Hynes, Caleb Aekins, Charlie Staines

WINGER: Marcelo Montoya, Sione Katoa, Patrick Herbert,

CENTRE: Peta Hiku, Tom Opacic, Cory Denniss, Steven Marsters

FIVE-EIGHTH: Adam Keighran, Jaeman Salmon, Tristan Sailor

These are the players I'd investigate.

Ray Stone, B Sironen were unwanted and left to Parramattta/Souths. We have Liddle and Simpkins at the hooker.

1. Charlie Staines
2. Sione Katoa
3. Peta Hiku
4. Steven Marsters
5. Patrick Herbert
6. Tristan Sailor
7. Braydon Trindall
8. Christian Welch
9. Nathaniel Roache

11. Bailey Sironen
12. Sam Stone
13. Ray Stone

14. Nicho Hynes
15. Toby Rudolf
16. Rhys Kennedy
17. Sam McIntyre

I actually think this team 1-17 would dust our current team and they probably 1-17 would cost about half the salary cap lol.

Nicho Hynes officially re-signed with Melbourne just a few minutes ago. They also held on to Darryn Schonig who looks good and Ryley Jacks.

They’ve also signed three development players for the 2021 season as well. I hope we are looking at doing the same very soon.

Was hoping they didn’t re-sign Schonig. He’s gonna develop into a weapon. Exact type we need

I really like him, he’s a monster could easily turn into another NAS. Clearly Bellamy sees the same.

How would Brayden Trindell go at Halfback? Is he worth having a crack at from Cronulla?

absolutely. instinctive running game, passing game is selectively good and his last tackle options are far superior compared to what we've dished up in the past few weeks. also won't cost much. him and Staines on $350k-$400k won't break the bank either and will significantly improve our spine

Few tricks like his father too. Worth a crack. Tho, probably won't make a play with the amount of halves on our books at the moment.

Exactly .. my thoughts as well and he would have been cheap to pick up .. certainly has some mongrel about him .. a player to watch over the coming years .. !! Love the way they pronounce his name in the call .. Zonic .. !! ;-)

Madge is in a tough position here unfortunately.
1 - He plays the players we wants to move on so show them off to increase interest..... or
2 - He stands he ground and drops them and bring in rookies etc - But this will drive price down and we would need to contribute more if they left ..

If Benji carries on like a pork chop and creates bad news for the club I say drop him-Don't need that.
This is a hard one but I would also drop Reynolds and say you won't be in the top 17 next year either and that might push him to look at other options more seriously

But either way media is going to make out like Madge his this hard ass coach no one wants to play for.

Interesting snippet from a fox sport report on goggle news it was the last paragraph about other clubs players moving on

The Wests Tigers could also look to offload Josh Aloiai and Matt Eisenhuth to free up much needed cap space.

Langer Cup: Sydney clubs snap up Queensland schoolboy talent

Here are a dozen reasons why there is nothing wrong with the pathway for young Queensland league players aspiring to make it in the NRL, despite concerns from chairman Peter V’landys. We name some Sunshine State schoolboys off to the NRL – but not via the Broncos, Cowboys or Titans.

We’re highlighting their success ahead of the semi-finals of the Langer Cup and Walters Cup, which will be livestreamed at couriermail.com.au on Wednesday.

Wavell SHS pair Tom Lunney (Canberra) and Prinston Esera (Raiders), Marsden SHS’s Teapo Stoltman (Raiders), Liam Su’a (Rabbitohs), Chris Faagutu (Tigers), Eli Tuli (Eels) and Lance Fualema (Eels), Keebra Park SHS trio Trey Peni (Wests Tigers), Lachlan Adamson and Lleyton Borg (both Bulldogs) and Ipswich SHS pair Evander Tere-Rongotaua and Tommy Luhrman (both Roosters) have secured NRL deals away from the Titans, Cowboys or Broncos.

The 12 were examples that, despite concerns from NRL chairman Peter V’landys, the pathway for young Queensland talent into the NRL is still a smooth process despite the failure of the Queensland NRL teams in season 2020.

Speaking on Monday night on Channel 9, V’landys expressed concern the plight of the Broncos, Titans and Cowboys this season was an indication the path for the next generation of Queensland teenage talent was what it should be.

But the reality is many Queenslanders find a way into NRL clubs even if they are not signed by the three Queensland clubs.

And these 12 players are merely a snapshot of young maroons bound for the NRL off-season training not in Queensland, with many players from Langer Cup powerhouse Palm Beach Currumbin SHS, the Titans Cup competition, Gee Cup and Payne Cup competitions all secured by southern clubs.

Ipswich SHS pair Evander Tere-Rongotaua and Tommy Luhrman, who will play in Wednesday’s Langer Cup semi-finals, said they were honoured to be given an opportunity by the Roosters.

“It felt amazing it was very exciting for not just me but for my family too,’’ Luhrman said.

“It was a dream come true it was one foot closer to achieving the dream of playing NRL. But you haven’t made it until you have made it.’’

Ipswich SHS teammate Tere-Rongotaua, who was also signed by the Roosters, added: “Being able to sign a contract was a dream come true.

“When I signed my first contract it was highly unexpected to be signed at that age. It was a very humbling and emotional experience.

“As now I am able to live my dreams and put me and my family in a position to live a life we dreamt of.’’

Madge and Hartigan seems to like poaching from the QLD junior comps. Not a bad idea considering there’s only 3 QLD teams and a huge amount of young kids there wanting spots.

Good to hear Chammas say we are after JAC and Staines. Would happily take both, would give us a pretty potent back line and improve our halves a little

Agree... I have a bad feeling with all this bad media now that players are unhappy it will effect us from getting talented players unless we overpay. Fingers crossed we get at least 1 of them..
What a shot in the arm it would be to pick up JAC now and show we are a club players want to come to.
