Thats a shame. We clearly need an experienced leader in the forwards, and Tamou might fit that mould. But yeah, we are next to no chance of moving Packer on. Reynolds too really.

I know someone said Dragons were looking at Packer, but they'd have to be brain dead to take him back. And I get the feeling Bulldogs for Reynolds (if there's any interest there) aren't that serious.

Hopefully we can make something work even with the dead weight.

Have no idea why wed want to buy Tamou..he cost Panthers $700k when he was at his prime,and has been so ordinary they had to buy Campbell Gillard at $500k to start
Have never seen any "leadeship "qualities from him,and on his watch Panthers have seriously underperformed until this year.
He wld be a massive mistake..we have learnt nothing if we sign him,particularly at this stage of his career.Pascoe..stand up(or wake up)

Scoop? It's not logical. Why waste money on his retirement pen? We can use the money on Flegler.

We are all so sick of another rebuild year.
But next year is going to be much of the same.
We can only hope to see improvement in some of our young players.
If we can steal a Penrith or Broncos young gun even better.we need to persist with madge.end of next year will be much more exciting

If you don't win or finish 2nd the next year is always a rebuilding year

You are still re-building then. Players get old and/or want more money and/or lose or gain form.

I could be way off here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if ET gets signed for another year. We obviously need to fill spots, and I can’t see us going too crazy on the open market. Plus he’s been in the 17 the last couple weeks ahead of guys like Lawrence whose retiring. If both weren’t going to be at the club next year and with the season gone, you’d think Lawrence would get game time over ET considering his standing at the club.

ET's been tackling his ring off the past few weeks, everyone must have noticed how tight and effective his defence has been. Madge wants blokes who turn up every set and make their tackles, and he's one.

I'd even go as far as to argue that ET is a real beneficiary of the 6-again rule, because he's tactical about giving away penalties / slowing the ruck and you don't give away so much field position any more if you do that. Considering he's barely played this year, his fitness looked good. Put a lot of Roosters on their backs at LO last week.

Like Huth, I think he's under-rated generally speaking, and probably more the style of footballer that suits the Madge toughness and fitness goals.

I reckon ET and Huth are massively under-rated. ET's defense is top notch. He has really made a difference simply by making his tackles.

It's hard to fault him on this year. Made 421 tackles and missed 6. Averaging 148m per game off 13.3 hit ups. His post contact metres are good. Pretty solid piece to have in the pack. He was good last year too, it was 2017 and 2018 where he looked like a dud buy from the Panthers.

The problem of course is his age and whether that kind of form is going to fall off a cliff, or whether he'll find it hard to produce in a weaker pack.
