Someone on FB (yes i know) claims we have signed JAC be announced Saturday, have no idea if he's in the know reckons it came directly for JAC's relative. Pinch of salt and all that.

Who, the forgotten man, that annoying Clarke kid or someone like that?

Just some bloke who said he'd spoken to one of JAC's relo as i said FB and a pinch of salt he said its done 3 yrs

Does McQueen leaving now really do anything for our cap?

Not really

Considering he was off contract and contracts go from nov 1 til October 31st we’ve got off paying him about 8 weeks so about $50k

At best we could dump it onto someone we’re trying to resign for next year I.e McIntyre

Not sure if it's just me but I'm pretty ticked off that he has sat in reserves on a good wage for the best part of three seasons and then with a few weeks to go asks to be released because it works for him.

I get that he's entitled to the salary as it's the contract he signed etc, just annoyed that it's been fine to sit on good coin for near on three years and not explore opportunity elsewhere and now with two months left to run he says "oh yeah, it works for me to not be here now, can I have a release?"

Yep...and he has a UK passport (thus not a quota player) AND he had offers to go last year.

Basically, he rode it out.

400 grand this year for what? Maybe 5 hit ups this season? No one has EVER earnt more for less in footy history as there was no reserve grade, so he literally just got to train and stay fit and cash cheques.

And he was entitled to...but he really should be in Pascoe's office worshiping at his feet this morning.

Why all the hate for McQueen? He suffered a bad injury, not his fault; agreed to a fair contract for his experience level and tried to make FG here. He didn't dog it and it's certainly not his fault that there wasn't any reserve grade this year to push his case. In the end, it didn't work out, but not through any fault of his.

I watched Tamou tonight and I have changed my mind and would only take him on 2 years and maybe 300k. He looked very ordinary
His other front row partner Leota looks outstanding.. Anyway will trust Madge and the team..

Don’t go on last night, the whole team was flat. Tamou has been great all year, I’d take him for the leadership and experience he would bring, which is sadly lacking in our pack at present.

HASTINGS EYES CODE SWITCH

Reigning Super League player of the year Jackson Hastings could make a shock switch to rugby with the Great Britain international in discussions to defect to the 15-man game. Hastings has opted against taking up the second year of his deal after having a favour his way to play another season at Wigan. Hastings has been targeted by a host of European rugby clubs, having joined Wigan this year after picking up the Man of Steel award and leading Salford to an unlikely grand final last year.

But Hastings’ Wigan stint is expected to last one year with plans for the 24-year-old to move on at season’s end. He will also explore the prospect of returning to the NRL.

If Hastings does leave, Wigan may make a play for Parramatta half Jai Field. Field was set to join Leeds this off-season before a deal fell through. Wigan are keen on Field who gets his chance in the halves again as a replacement for Dylan Brown on Sunday.

The appearance is critical for Field and Wigan as he needs more games to be eligible to sign with a Super League club. Field only joined the Eels on a one-year development contract but is now crucial to their premiership quest. **Wigan are also among the clubs keen on Josh Reynolds if Bevan French returns home at season’s end**.

Remember the name KOTONI STAGGS! Gee I hate paying overs but I would go outta my way to pay big money for this bloke! Absolute WEAPON! Probably the strongest pound 4 pound player in the league! His speed to power ratio is through the roof! Been following his progress throughout the juniors, he was a GUN fullback coming through! Would score a bunch of tries in all the state carnivals with ease! I reckon he has the ability to become an ELITE fullback! He’s only touching the ball less than 10 times a game at centre, imagine getting the ball to him 25 times a game through the middle! He would be so destructive, so hard to tackle!
