Whats the latest with him, anybody heard when or if he'll play again. Only reason i ask is cause its gone quiet on the subject and he'd be a huge boost if he was to return. Cheers

Simon won't play FG again unfortunately, but at least he has the chance to move on and live a normal life.

What a pity- this bloke has such enormous potential. Good Luck Simon :sunglasses:

'I can't feel my legs'

'yep shoulder injury, no need for a stretcher'

'but I can't feel my legs!!!'

'Simon it's your shoulder, now walk off and we'll look at it in the change rooms'

My memorys crap…were they actual quotes attributed to Simon and whoever assisted him off the park? Doctor, Trainer?

I was in the U.S.A when that happened & all i could find out was he had a shoulder injury & would be out for a couple of weeks. Who ever made the call to walk him off should of been sacked, this bloke could of been great & we missed him, good luck Simon.

Are you suggesting that walking off is the cause of his inability to play again? I hope not. Given its not true, it's a pretty disgusting suggestion.

At a guess I would suggest he's being a bit facetious. At the time alot of people were amazed at the fact they let him walk off considering the amount of discomfort he seemed to be in.

His still tougher thank Tuqiri. Only player to have to get a medicab for breaking an arm.

Regardless, any injury where a person can't feel their legs, should provoke a high suspicion for a possible spinal injury, also the fact he was so wobbly and distressed, he should not have been walked off IMHO.

The day after the game on the deadset legends Stephen humphreys said 'the medical staff believed it was a shoulder injury and that a stretcher wasn't needed, it was very distressing for everyone, including myself, seeing him have to walk off the field when he clearly wasn't up to it'

Of course I'm not saying the medical staffs actions contributed to it, but it was a disgusting look and I dare say it didn't help.

How come they couldn't have walked a few paces then realised he needed one?

Could one not display similar symptoms as a result of a severe or significant concussion?

And what is with posts where we have to include make-believe quotes?? They seem to be coming up more and more and they do little to substantiate or detract from an argument.

It is a terrible shame we will not see Simon back. He really did have plenty of potential. I hope he stays involved in the game.

At least officially…however from my non-expert opinion, given it was nerve damage in the spinal area, it is at least possible that not stablising the injury could easily worsen the situation.....or not I guess. I have wondered myself if walking him off and treating the shoulder made it worse.

But officially they have said that it is not the case. Medicos never lay blame at other medicos
