Simon Dwyer....

Both he and Fifita are the future of our forwards. Our next generation forward pack must be built around these two guys.

He was used well of the bench for maximum impact, which certainly gave us a bit of momentum towards the end of the first half. Even the commentators were wrapping him

The thing that impressed me was that he went looking for the ball

What we don;t need is Fulton and Flanagan in the same 17 as they are both small backrowers. Same as when we had Fulton & Halatau.
Personally I think Flanagan is the one who should miss out.

Thats also how i see it.Flanagan is not up to forwards standard for me.Is a great squad player but at full strength i can't see how he could fit in this side.
Dwyer on the other hand has 1st grade all over him.He has the worlds biggest arms & the scary thing is i can see him getting even bigger in 2 or 3 years time

Its a big mans game these days,& small backrowers need to have something really special like Gallans toughness or watmoughs speed to have an impact…Im not sure Flanno, whilst I applaud his enthusiastism, has anything new or different to bring, whilst Fulton does have some ball playing skills but its one or the otherIMO.

Really impressed with Simon. We need dangerous andfowards hunting for the ball and big hits. Him, Ellis and Fafita are the only forwards with that look in their eye

It is pleasing to see some of our younger players being slotted into the NRL team. It is even better to see that they are proving to be competitive in the NRL.
With such a big junior area, the future success of the Tigers will depend on the Club developing the better of the young players and not losing them to opposition teams. :wahoo:

Good picture of Simon Dwyer.

It's good hey. Lui, Fifita and now Dwyer have showed they can make the next step outside the Toyota Cup.

Hopefully by years end our first string forwards are something like;

8 - KG
10 - Gibbo
11 - Ellis
12 - Dwyer
13 - Rhino
14 - Fifita
15 - J Schirnack
16 - Woods
17 - Fulton

Payten is a passenger. Last night was the best game of the season for him but it still wasn't very good for a starting prop. Fulton gets the 17 jersey because he is a better defender than Mark Flanagan. Obviously I'm pretty much saying that I hope Woods, Jason Schirnack and Dwyer become sensations. If Woods can grow that massive beard back he'll play Origin next year.

Dwyer and Jason Schirnack already look like sensations to me. Fifita is there as well.

Sheens should be choosing them now.

Jason 'angry man' Schirnack is still injured I believe…..

His time will come....

Full credit to our recruitment manager, really has brought some talented youngsters and future stars to our club. Well done Warren you don't often get big wraps but imo you are doing a great job!

DEwyer really impressed me on Friday, don't he should be a starter at this point in time but should be playing decent minutes off the bench..

I like him. He looks bigger this year. I wouldn't mind if he is in the starting side this week at second row/lock.

I haven't agreed with much Ron Burgandy has posted lately but he's got this one right with that pack. Dwyer will play off the bench for some months still, but match fit, thats the best back row we can field. Just what our halves need.

I new both Fifita and Dwyer would hold their spots one given a chance. Along with Lui and Mullaney they were a class above the rest in the NYC. I'm a big fan of what Jason Shirnack did in the NYC too.

Payten is a good club man, but i think better suited to the bench at this stage of his career too.

he should be starting IMO, give us a physical presence on the field, in 2 years id dare say he will be as big as waterhouse

Ron he's had 4 State Cup games back and 1 in FG….

Sheens has found his utility second rower off the Bench for now....

His defence is outstanding for a kid.....

when at full strength (which seems like never) id have him starting ahead of flanagan fulton and payten in the backrow, we need a physical presence and this kid provides it

gibbs
galloway

Dwyer
ellis
rhino

Payten
moors
fifita
fulton/flanagan

we may make the finals with that side…...
