Simona-show some respect

Having your hands on your hips and spitting during a minute's silence for the deceased and especially Reg Gasnier was disgusting IMO. some people have no respect, no excuse i think. poor form

I thought the same. I reckon that young guys these days don't know how to deal with important situations. Total lack of respect.

Hands on hips? So what, absolutely nothing wrong with that. Spitting, ok not ideal during a min silence but players spit a thousand times during a game. Don't really know why he was if he hasn't been running around yet, but it happens so often i don't think they even think twice about doing it…

I reckon it was even worse that the fanatics started their chant before the minute silence had finished

I think it happened immediately following the conclusion of the minute silence.

'so what' you reckon about hands on your hips during a minute's silence tribute for somebody? if you are older than 12 or so then you have got some things to learn mate. disgraceful from Simona, probably karma that he had a bad game TBH. might be petty but respect when it is due.

Nit picking at its best.

I think he has a point.he is from another culture so he may not know the importance of posture in these moments to our culture. The culture that he lives in (Australia) considers the posture of a person in these moments quite important so if i was coach I would certainly tell him.Not his intent to disrespect IM sure but he doesnt want to look like a goose either so someone needs to tell him.

The crowd was a thousand times worse, I was cringing watching it on TV. Terrible . Didn't notice Simona

Simona shouldn't need to observe a minute's silence because he is from another culture? He doesn't understand how to be respectful?

What a load of sh!t if ever I've heard it.

Anyway it's our own culture that I am concerned about. Minutes of silence are always poorly observed in Australia, by the crowd and by the players. This was just another example of it.

You must take into account that this guy is probably in the zone already and is itching to get the game going once he gets out on to the field just like every other week. It's still not the best look but it's not like he's at a funeral.

Bingo!

They were all surprised this minutes silence was to occur….every player was set to start the game

of course, cause New Zealand as basically like growing up in the Middle East. Such a vastly different culture.

in any case, i didnt see it, but it seems like he was fixated on the game. doesn't seem like the kind of person to purposely disrespect the game's icons.

A gentle but firm word from the coach should remedy the problem. After all, appearances are important to a lot of people - including potential sponsors. He'll learn from it - I hope.
