Just wondering if there's a problem with Tim Simona or if he's not as quick as first thought. He seemed to get run down well and truly against NQ. Injury perhaps? Tired?

He had no off season and is coming back from an injury and a concussion. Takes a little while to get the body to 100%. He's close, but still not quite at top gear yet.

Lol, what….
He's fast as.

I saw him get run down once towards the end of the game.
Probably exhausted.

He did look a little under done, staying down after getting tackled, and cramping up.

For the last 20 mins of the game (when he went to fullback) he was suffering with cramp severely. He was down in back play getting stretched and rubbed every break in play and sometimes for the first few tackles of each of our sets. I reckon had Rowe already not gone off, Simona probably wouldn't have played out the game.

And to be fair, when Winterstein ran him down, Tim had probably run about 80m to his 40m given he came from beyond the dead ball line and weaved his way across field. Winterstein took the straight line.

No need to panic, just one of those nights.

A few factors came into that play as mentioned, notably that Simona has already covered an extra 30-40 metres compared to Winterstein who himself is no slouch. i also think Simona is still working his way back to full match fitness and had an interrupted pre-season getting over the shoulder reco. He was also being herded across field gradually towards Wintersein who was running in a straight line and had less ground to cover.

But yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm sure we'll see Timmy in the clear again scoring tries before too long.

I was discussing the same thing in the Lawrence thread.

Let's hope for Tim's sake he regains his speed, because if you can't get that top speed back, the fans may turn on you!
