Siro

Is Siro on the outer? Why does Potter pick Anasta over him? Anasta is supposed to get a tap on the shoulder and not finish his 2 year contract. I damn well hope so. And here we have Siro, sitting on the bench when we have lost all games, certainly the last 4 since Anasta has replaced Siro in the run on side?

Obviously lots of people see him moving into the pack, which is beyone me given a big fast 5/8 like him would be awesome. We read about all the young guns in 2014 but hardly a mention of Siro.

So guys and gals what the story?

He's only 20 and has plenty of growing to do. His kicking game is not good enough to be in the halves and he will be too slow for the halves once he puts on a few kilos of muscle. As potter has stated before, siro hasn't had an off-season in the gym.

Too slow for the halves,,,,,,what rubbish.

There are some halves running around slower than me.

How about John Sutton,He goes alright, not fast and a huge unit yet he plays 6 and well.

Potter has rocks in his head,he has a champion 6 right there in Siro, and plays that useless hack Anasta who is no paceman himself as evidenced by DCE running around him with ease.

I will say, if Siro was to be slated in at 5/8, I'd be happy with that. For mine, he's a bit like Scott Hill used to be at the Storm. And if Brooks IS everything people think he might be, then having Siro on one side of the field as the physical ball runner/player is a good foil to Brooks being the team organiser.

I'm not convinced Siro has the running game to be a back rower.

I said he WILL be too slow once he puts on muscle. He will probably start next season around 107-110kg's which will take away some of his speed.

Also, you can't deny his lack of a kicking game. It's as clear as day to anyone who watches closely that he's a backrower with extra skill, not a half with average skill.

Great call re Scott Hill…..they play a very similar game.

And Siro has some more oomph about him.

The guy will be an outstanding 13\. The last two weeks he has begun to look like a Brad Clyde. He would not be on the outer, can only assume Potter is easing him into the role.

Next year:

1\. Tedesco
6\. ?
7\. Brooks
13\. Sironen
9\. Farah

Build around that. Simple.

Why are people obsessed with Sirro playing at lock? I'd much prefer Matt Bell at 13 and sirro at 11 or 12\. He runs good strong lines but his defence is ordinary.

i think his biggest strength is ball running, and he doesn't do it enough in the halves.
put him on the left edge and you have a good hole runner with ball skills.
if the outside backs continue to develop our left edge could be very potent in the next couple of years.

coming into the latter part of the season reducing the workload could help him for the offseason work ahead of him.

What 20 year old forward has equal or better defence? I think his defence is above average for a rookie.

Siro at second row or lock, doesn't really matter. 11,12 and 13 are all meant to be pretty versatile nowadays

Sue has better defence.

Debatable, sirro's decision making is much better. Also sue has been fully fit for a while whereas sirro is coming off 2 shoulder recos

Siro played about 40-50mins on the left edge last week with both Anasta and Marshall on the field im pretty sure. So i assume he was playing in the back row. I think Potter is getting him ready for next year
