Sironen

I don't think we can win the comp without him. As far as I'm concerned he is the rudder that keeps us going in the right direction. Without him I don't think we can beat Newcastle. Ever since he came into the team there's a different feel about the team. I think we will be on struggle street this Monday night. But I'm sure we'll get Haslers dogs with Sirro back. Call me crazy - call me a lunatic - your entitled to- its just a gut feeling that I thought I'd throw it out to the forum just like Socrates & the Greeks.

AHX, Ill take you up on your offer, you are crazy, you are a lunatic

just kidding mate, but I do disagree

I think Sironen is clearly an excellent prospect, and has done well, and I like the way he takes the ball forward.

However I dont think he is anywhere near as important as you are saying at this point, I think the loss against the roosters had alot more to do with no Farah and Fulton, meant that we were softer in the middle than we would normally be.

The kid has played 3 first games , and they were RELATIVELY good , but we you compare his performances to try way the best players ( players whose teams depend on them ) play , he is a long way from that

Interesting perspective AHX. I agree we miss him, that we'll be a chance against Dessie's Dogs with him back, and Newcastle will be a grind I think, regardless of whether Farah plays.

Fulton is a bigger loss though IMO, and the team will look a whole lot stronger again when Ellis returns also.

Yeh, Fulton has improved so much & is pivotal to our team but for me it's players like Sironen that have a game that allows players like Fulton to play their natural game. Does that make any sense?

I get what you are saying ( i think anyway), The fact the SIronen plays fairly direct and takes the ball on means that blokes like benji can float accross field looking for runners and making him more dangerous, and Sironen is an additional ball carrying threat taking attention away from other ball carriers, notably Lawrence and Moltz….creating an overall better balance....and if that is what you are saying I agree, but also think that at this stage he is far from irreplaceable.

I do like Siro alot tho

IMO - Sirro gives us a much needed second option instead of relying solely on Benji. All the other make shift playmakers this season trialed and failed to impress anyone. Despite some of them even getting a few chances.

Despite Sirro's age and limited experience the team seems to flow a little better when he's on the paddock. He has a lot of potential and will only get better with more experience and maturity.

You can't win a comp unless you have two quality halves for each side of the ruck. Last time we had the X Factor in the halves was when we won the comp with Benji and Scotty Prince. Time will tell if Sirro is the Messiah we have been waiting for, but until then he is definitely the best option we have in the entire club, and with potential to get much better makes every week a little more exciting..

The side does look better with him at 6, he has good vision, has a good passing game and defensively he has been good since coming into FG. I'll be glad to see him return, but I'm confident the Tigers can beat the Knights without him, provided they are focused on playing some good football.

Apart from when Lui played his best footy , Sirro Jr will be our best option with Benji as a 6 and 7 since Prince was here in 2005

He wasn't here in 2006 imo

The thing I have already seen with Sirro is he seems to help straighten our attack as Benji doesn't seem to drift sideways as much with Sirro there .

We scored 28 points without Sironen I don't think he is the missing element yet it was Fulton and Farah defending in the middle and being replaced by Blair and big Ben both of whom struggled

and i have a horrible feeling that when ellis is back, fulton will make way for both blair and rhino.
fulton should be first one picked to partner ellis.

as for sirro, been a pretty cushy ride so far.

Sironen is going to one hell of a player, & we did miss him last week just like we missed Robbie & Liam which left holes around the ruck. I think we will beat the Knights this week & i think Robbie will play as i dont think he will want to go into the 3rd SOO missing two games, this will make it easier for big Ben, & Blair in defence, & when Ellis comes back Fulton has to stay in the starting side maybe @ lock.

sirro to me hasnt shown much to suggest to me that he is a good 5/8 yet. if his future is backrow, then put him there now. no point dragging him along at 5/8.

And class players are what win comps, what hold the team together…the rudder if you will

You just said he ''will be'' that.
IE: in future
Good to see youre coming to your senses
