So Who At WT Wants Potter Gone, And Why?

A good question, but i remember Roy Masters stating there is no issue between Wests and Balmain on the coaching issue:

_Nevertheless, an independent chair wouldn’t solve this problem because there is no conflict between Wests and Balmain over the coaching issue._

So either they are in agreement over keeping or sacking him.

I wouldn't be expecting an objective, rational answer. The Balmain diehards will blame the wheather man, and the Wests diehards will blame Balmain because they are struggling financially.

I would imagine both sides of the JV will be looking at what coaching options are available in 2015\. Coaching is a result driven occupation and put all the injuries and drama aside, Potter in terms of result has not delivered.

He may survive on the back of the over whelming support he has received from all sections of the NRL world on the way he has handled himself over the past month. Although I feel he will fall based on results or should I say lack of results. Our club is desperate for results and tend to make a lot of reactionary decisions trying to achieve a quick fix and the sacking of Potter will be one of those decisions

I've heard that one part of the board wants Potter , one part wants Walters and one part wants Parish

You'd have to think Mayer doesn't want Potter

I know many of the young players like and want Potter

Payten definitely doesn't want Potter

Very messy situation

Now this is a broad statement in terms of results… I have said before with at least a fair shake of injuries the team would of finished in the top 4 ,I base this on how the team was travelling at the time basically in the 8 for the entire season.
IMO Potter had a plan for the second half of the season and unfortunately we all know what happened and this put paid to that.I was not to happy with the structure in attack but did think the defensive side of things had improved ,yes the game is a results based game and if the team does finish around 10th that is a pretty good season .
Now we all have to be a bit honest here as we should ask ourselves where did YOU think the team would be at the start of the season? I thought around 9thor 10th would be a good season to move forward to the next I am being honest .
The thing for me is if Potter is punted who comes in ..now surely the club would not sign a rookie coach that would be crazy ...So why is Potter being shown the door is there a GURU of a coach standing behind the door....the question remains who and why is he being punted ?

I do not know why "both sides of the JV will be looking at the coaching options, which are available.
Won't the decision on Mick Potter be decided by the new Board? If they decide not to re-new Potter's contract, won't the new Board be choosing the new coach? If so, the two Balmain Board members cannot vote, so the decision will be up to the two Wests Magpies Board members and the three independent Board members.

as I understand happy you are ver close to the mark. A board member has approached one of those mentioned although he was told he had the job before Potter was announced. He has a lot of support from high profile players which the board member believes will help recruitment.

Good grief…are you suggesting that the board would only appoint someone that "high profile players" believe is the best ? Which "high profile players" are you referring to? And, if "a" board member is out there "approaching" a potential coach, on whose authority is he/she doing that? Why couldn't there be some vested interest in his/her part? Your post is BS. Get over yourself, man. You have as much "knowledge" as I do and that's ZILCH!!!!

Isn't the board made up of 2 parts only?

Both Walters and Parish are worse choices than Potter… As for Payten no more jobs for the boys. He can get on his bike.. No other NRL club will take him!

Hell we don't want Parish,he has won no friends where ever he has been, and he has off sided Ricky to what looks like back to back spoons at different clubs,an almost perfect example of who we don't need.

That is not what I was referring to at all. I am hearing this secondhand. Members of Tigers board realised they have a problem attracting high profile players & this particular coach had a few of the highest profiles in the nrl as references (not that they would be able to sign such players)when originally interviewed & people in league circles speak all the time. I am only stating what I have heard from someone employed by an NRL club (not the tigers) believe what you want & get over yourself.

That's a great point.

I think he planned on utilising Simona and nofo more towards the backend of the season.
