I'll open up this thread this year.

Our current contracted players for 2018 are as follows:

I've highlighted who I would keep. I would definitely be going hard for Gareth Widdop, I think he and Moses would complement each other very well in the halves.
 
No way would i want Widdop he has been poor after he left Melbourne take a look at any dragons forum if you dont believe me

Sign Thurston Taumalolo Maloney Bird Evans and J Manu..
 
Can't argue with the players chosen to be kept or let go. Idris may come good but given what he has shown thus far he may not live up to the hype. Brooks has been discussed at length in various other threads so no need to elaborate on him any further!!
 
At this stage of the season, I'd only re-sign proven talent.

The problem the club has they are going to spend a huge chunk of the salary cap on 4 guys that are playing in the team at present ..so where does this leave the team in general? There are major problems with multiple positions and these positions need to be filled with NRL quality players .So I would sign Teddy, woods ,Moses as definite , then fill the other critical areas that NEED to be rectified and any money left offer it to the others ..one note I would NOT sign Brooks he has had more than enough time to show his worthiness and it is not working out!
 
I'd only be offering contracts to Teddy, Nofo, Woods, Moses, Ava and Grant.

If Matty Mac continues to do well I'd certainly look at extending him also, we'll need someone until Liddle is right for full time NRL or doesn't pan out.

Swapping Brooks for Widdop would be like changing the flat tyre on your car and replacing it with another flat. A big no thanks to Gariff.
His goalkicking would be handy though.
 
Anyone outside of Tedesco, Woods, Moses and Noffa I wouldn't lose any sleep over. Well maybe Ava as I have a soft spot for him.

Last time I was on a Saints Forum was giving them what for when Moltzen backed out of the deal

Now I wish I could of reorganized the deal

Surely if we get on the market early enough we can get some decent replacements

But no , along the lines of Woods people worth signing won't sign with a club not knowing who will coach the following season

I agree Watto. And as for Widdop…..he would have to pay us and I'd still play him in reggies. Sorry, Cant agree on him. He was made to look good by Cronk.

Agree with this. No way Widdop too inconsistent which is Brooks problem. I would try to poach Sezer or Austin from Canberra. Sezer is a local Bulldogs Jnr would fit in well.
 
Widdop is on fire this year, he is huge step up from Brooks on the same money, plus he is a goal kicker, I don't get the hate. Blake Green on the other hand was made look good by Cronk, 24 loses in a row when not playing with Cronk.

Widdop is just as consistent as Seizer
 
We need to say goodbye to guys like Grant, Naiqama, Lovett, Edwards and Rankin. We need significant upgrades in those areas.

Have to agree at this stage Brooks is still only "potential" and extremely inconsistent.Completely agree with the others listed Moses has shown enough to try to keep.
