So...Who stays and who goes?

To be honest the only forwards that we have now , that would be more than depth at other clubs are Woods and ET , maybe Ava at times. But the rest could easily go without the world ending

Sad, but true (not including the hooker Liddle)
However I think young Aloiai will end up a good player.

So true. Our current forwards as a unit pack are terrible when compared with most teams.

I would go hard for Cooper Cronk. He wants to move to Sydney to be near his Girlfriend.

One of the best half backs I have every seen and you can build a team around him.

We need someone of his status to bring a winning culture and professionalism to our club.

As our forum members have pointed out Cronk makes other look good around him.

He's the real brains behind the Storm, Smith does very little in a game, just shovels it to Cronk mainly, and Cronk does the rest. Which is good as it doesn't interfere too much with Smith referring the game.

You've been dishing up less stupidity lately, I guess you were saving it up for this comment :unamused:

So Cronk isn't the brains of the team huh?
Ok keep thinking that if you want

Yeah maybe focus your attention on the bit I underlined.

Watch a couple of their games concentrating on Smith, and then tell me that he does a lot in a game. It's either a hand off or pass to a hit up and when anythings on its to Cronk to set up or start something.
Smith very seldom does anything himself.sure he gets through some defence, but hooker is the easiest position to play in that side because almost all the decision making comes from Cronk.
When Cronk leaves that team it will be one of the hardest spots to fill in that team, becausehis football brain is the best that I've ever seen.
Smith won't be missed that much when he retires , as most hookers can do what he does, but Cronk is going to be very difficult to replace
As we will see next season.

Been waiting for that one Tigertigertiger! Like if we kept Austin and sent Moses to Canberra/kept Martin and sent Brooks to Penrith, I daresay last year would have looked similar on the ladder for all involved.

Jack Littlejohn
Matt Mcilwrick
Mitchell Moses - Not paying overs. If someone wants to pay him $900k let them.
David Nofoaluma
Ava Seumunafagai
James Tedesco
Aaron Woods

I'd keep this lot.

Brooks and Moses could like like world beaters behind a top pack, in an "established side". I'd love to keep them both (romantic notion of our local boys in orange winning a ton of matches/titles), but at this stage the only way I can see that happening is if they hit some late form, if no one else wants them and they have to take pay cuts or some strange combination of the two.

Moses rubs me the wrong way but appears to be the better player.

Brooks seems like a good young fella but appears to lack the will to win required in the NRL that carries guys like Josh Reynolds and Blake Austin to overperform.

Tbh I can't imagine either of them as Tigers legends when their careers are over. Moses is still that young fella who got stung for calling someone a homophobic remark in the Under 20s Origin. Brooks has Super League Man of Steel written all over him.

I wish we had have kept Te Maire Martin and Blake Austin. There is more to winning matches than skill. Those guys have great attitudes to match their skill. Oh to be able to go back in time.

Woods Tedesco Moses Suli Nofoaluma Paseka Lawrence Liddle and E Taylor

Surely if we get on the market early enough we can get some decent replacements

But no , along the lines of Woods people worth signing won't sign with a club not knowing who will coach the following season

Everyone is forgetting that the NRL haven't released the salary cap limit for 2018.

Every decent player in the NRL is holding out so they can get as much as possible.

Once that is released, we'll see some signings.

Team for 2018

Teddy
Nofoaluma
Idris (depending on 2017 form)
Suli
TBA (someone big and strong - Dean Whare)
Moses
TBA (Cooper Cronk is my wish list)
Taylor
TBA (Boyd Cortner type)
TBA (Tyson Frizzel type)
Woods (cleaned up version)
Liddle
Ava

Bench

J J Felise
Sue
Aloiai (depending if he kicks on in 2017)
TBA (some big and strong)

Lawrence (18th man)
MCK (back up)

The others not named can find other homes.

Our club is an embarrassment and we deserve to get the spoon. For the first time in my life, I am embarrassed to be a supporter of our club. How it gets turned around - I don't know. The only person that deserves a good contract is Tedesco and Woods. We are a club of plodders. Nothing more.

Ha ha - superleague man of steel! Gold!

I can see Rankin and Lovett being contenders too.

I could probably be a contender for Super League Man of Steel! Lol

Your not trying hard enough , you could be embarrassed by this club at almost every turn if you let yourself
