Aren't they in quite a bit of debt? Crowe isn't worth that much in the great scheme of things, can't see how he could buy the club/controlling share, or even a substantial minority share.

I think Leeds at the start of 2014 were in Debt of about 20 million . Not a lot these days .
I'm sure FT could fill you in , in more detail though !

Chelsea are in debt of about $950 million , massive difference between the EPL and the championship league !

In the Beginning of 2014 Massimo Cellino the Former Owner of the Italian Seria A Club Cagliari bought a 75 per cent on Leeds United and this guy is worth over $300 Million , but the Football League last year wanted to step him down from that role as he failed the owner's proper Test ? the reason being that he has a court case pending for not paying 390,000 euro in Tax for a Yacht he purshased . But had insufficient evidence and Cellino Lawyers contested the Football League and won but just this week has steeped down for the time being so he can fight his case in Italy as an independent Citizen and not drag Leeds with it .
The story is basically Cellino’s purchase of a 75 per cent stake in United cost the Italian businessman £11m in cash but he also agreed to inherit and repay £24m of short and long-term debt.
Some £10.5m was due to be repaid by the turn of this year (2014) with the remaining £13.5m owed in staggered payments by December 2017.

Cellino acquired majority control of Leeds at a time when the club were losing more than £1m a month but he has introduced heavy cost-cutting measures at Elland Road in his short time as owner, including heavy redundancies among United’s staff.
