I think if Football Australia been a little more flexible he would have stayed on, but let’s not forget he did get the Socceroos to the WC.
Personally I thought it was poor, and egotistical,that he didn’t follow through to the end of the WC.
However, I did read an article at the time where he said he much preferred club coaching and when you look at his Japanese, Scottish and now English results, he’s certainly not bad at it.
One of those “might have been stories” if he’d gone to the WC finals.

Well, it pays more. And he doesn't have the weight of the nation on his shoulders. I think - yea its true- i do think from time to time - that he will coach the Aussies again in the World Cup. Hal, I forgotten he got them to the World Cup before.
