They simply become lazy. They don't work hard enough around the middle of the ruck to cover each other. Cash and Keith were both guilty of it last game and let in tries.

That's why Lawrence and co feel they need to rush up - and yes they MUST be effective when they do that. Or turn the attack back in - but with our lazy middle defenders not coming across to help cover up they can still get through us - the Cashmere effort a prime example.
Bottom line is if they worked harder laterally in the middle and stayed on their game instead of clocking off when the play leaves their immediate defensive area most of the problems would be solved.
