Someone call them soft! Please...

They simply become lazy. They don't work hard enough around the middle of the ruck to cover each other. Cash and Keith were both guilty of it last game and let in tries.

Then we have the compressed defence designed to tighten up our soft underbelly, which leaves unmarked men on the outside. That's why Lawrence and co feel they need to rush up - and yes they MUST be effective when they do that. Or turn the attack back in - but with our lazy middle defenders not coming across to help cover up they can still get through us - the Cashmere effort a prime example.

Bottom line is if they worked harder laterally in the middle and stayed on their game instead of clocking off when the play leaves their immediate defensive area most of the problems would be solved.

Yeah I agree Barra And thats why we miss Ellis and Fulton so much They do so much clean up work around the rucks and fringes

I don't mind centres rushing in early in a game and belting someone

Reminds the opposition centre he's around and you never know , he might have one eye out looking for Lawrence next time and make an error

Agree totally HT when Chris gets it right he doesn't miss!

Just need to make sure his decision making is correct, and get Benji and Aysh to adopt his tackling technique. Benji can hit hard but is scared to use his upper arms, while Blake tends to use too much arm and no shoulder - surely they should be working on this??
