Currently watching the Kokoda movie ...decided to read up on some info about Kokoda

I have always heard claims we were heavily outnumbered ...turns out that was garbage ...we actually outnumbered the Japanese about 2.25:1 .....

Anyone else got a curious fact most probably wouldn't know ....???

I thought the 39th Battalion at the start of the campaign were outnumbered, but this changed later? I read Peter Fitzimons's book, Kokoda a number of years ago, as I did his book on Tobruk. Really good reading. I suppose a curious fact for me in the Tobruk book was the statement from a mother of a soldier fighting at Tobruk that one day their normally docile dog starting whining and it went on for ages. She worked out later it was the day her son was killed in action. Who knows - dog's intuition? Terribly sad at any rate.

Can I be honest, I never know why leap day persons say this. Just because the date of birth disappears 3/4 years doesn't mean you haven't aged a year on March 1st. Everyone experiences the same duration of year.

I dare say she did it for shock value,i wouldnt be suprised if she was claiming to be 16 these says just to annoy people especially any kids/grandkids that she has.She was a terrific person and i honestly hope she has had a good life but we both realised after a few months it wouldn't be with each other.C'est la vie
