Something you never knew

Your cornea is the only part of your body that doesn't have a blood supply. Because of this, it receives its oxygen directly from the atmosphere. It's also the fastest healing part of your body. Most corneal abrasions are healed in 24-36 hours.

Play dough does that for me. Even when I was little and we had free play in kindergarten, couldn’t touch that stuff ?

Cricket Australia has an integrity unit.

: a concerted effort to keep an illegal or unethical act or situation from being made public.
Chappelli & Co would never have brought the game down.

Ngl I feel stupidly happy to see the Wests Tigers sitting in 8th position - regardless of what it is.
This off season is far too long.

I never knew that a positive Covid diagnosis has a 1 in 6 chance of resulting in Diabetes.

I knew of Smell, I knew of Taste disappearing. Never knew Diabetes was a thing with Covid.

My wife, who works in this field, was talking about this last night. It is not that Covid causes diabetes it appears more as if having a Covid diagnosis is uncovering diabetes people didn’t realise they had.

LOL Eels have been 16th for 65 weeks. Not sure how long this list goes for but funny that Knights have had the wooden spoon 3 years in a row but Eels have beeen 16th for longer. Scum Club

Have you noticed that hair on your body stops growing after a while?
For example, your knee is shaved for an operation, after a while the hair gradually starts to regrow and when it gets back to the same length as the other knee it stops.
Also the hair under you arms and nether region stops at a certain point and at the same length.
Usually the amount under each arm is the same thank god.
Why is it so?
Well we're all different in the amount of hair we regrow but the theory is that hair has a growth period.
At the end of this period the brain stops sending growth signals to the hair follicle.
The only difference to that is our head and facial hair that continues to grow to protect us from the elements.
The only exception to this theory is Cousin It.

*Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia* is one of the longest words in the dictionary — and, in an ironic twist, is the name for a fear of long words.
Should be the fear of not being able to pronounce words.

There has only been one death in Australia from spider bites since 1979.
A young man died in 2016 after being bitten by a redback spider.
The low death rate is due to the production of anti-venom.
Snake bite deaths average 2-4 per year because we have the highest per capita population of venomous snakes in the world.
Another reason for more fatalities by snakes is because attacks are often in remote areas further away from medical help whereas spiders are mainly in populated areas.
