Clubs and States these days make a mockery of the entire system. Not saying Cleary doesn't deserve it, but there are many who deserve it more. How is a 22yo kid with 2 seasons under his belt going to tell seasoned veterans what to do.

Ted as captain is laughable. Hope the NSW team doesn't look to him for inspiration in defence....his pathetic "effort" in trying to tackle Papalii in the Roosters v Raiders game at the end of the season was embarrassing. He ran alongside Papalii and then made sure the upright got in his way so he didn't have to put his body on the line.
At least his new Chompers will look nice in the team photo.

I'm tempted to side with QLD this time around. Tedesco as captain......Cleary being groomed for captaincy....... Gutho in the team. It's almost unbearable

I don't think Tedesco has any leadership qualities tbh BUT he deserves it with the amount of work he's put in at club/state/international level.

Cleary on the other hand may have leadership qualities but definitely far too early for him and disrespectul to those who have put in the work. Fittler has always been an advocate of talent over hard work, but this is a stretch too far.

I'm sure Teddy will do a good job as a leader- he seems to excel at every thing he does. Whether that will be enough to get the team over the line we'll see
