Souths Mad Monday turns violent

from what i've read he threw the first 'punch' or whatever he wants to term it as - i doubt anyone would then just stand there, smile and take it.

he admitted to drinking - he has 'sworn statements' from security and bar staff apparently - shouldn't have been there, pure and simple - he's a coach, not their bestest buddy in the whole wide world - when will coaches learn they are a BOSS and part of that is distancing yourself to an extent from your employees - you can be friendly with them but there is a line in the sand.

Ive read no where of taylor "throwing" any punches, rather some skylarking kung fu type play.

Last I heard theres no law against drinking.

HE was assaulted, and HE was sacked, his replacement announced the very same day his termination was announced.
You swap Taylor with Sheens, and Fa'aologo with Bryce Gibbs, same scenario plays out and this joint would be in meltdown backing Sheens.

Sheens is a coach though. Not a guy trying to be mates with his players while coaching. Guarantee Sheens does not sink cans all day with the team on Mad Monday or slap his own player (as Taylor admitted to on 2SM)

Different opinions I guess Ink.

For mine a professional coach will enjoy one or two drinks with their players at an appropriate venue and call it a night. Getting drunk with the players you have to coach the next year is a terrible decision for mine

No…probably not a wise choice, he should learn from this mistake you'd think.
I dont think it was reported he was intoxicated. He says he wasnt.
But I dont think he deserves to have the tripe belted out of him and then be sacked from his job, as most opinions here seem to support.

I don't think he deserves to have the tripe belted out of him for the Mad Monday thing.

I think it is very smart of Souths management to sack him though when presented this opportunity. He is not up to being a first grade coach yet for mine.

He has been whining in the media how he won't get to coach the squad he has built for next year. He should ring Mcrae and ask him how he dealt with it when Souths got rid of him for Taylor after they made big signings for the next season

Taylor is not the bad guy here…. fair dinkum some of you must be holding grudges against him for whatever reason.
