Spence

Its hard to have patience when you look at the Miller situation, but anyway thats another story.
Hopefully Potters use of Spence - throwing him in the deep end so to speak - reaps rewards eventually

To me it looks like we are building depth hopefully with a view to recruiting experience
Long term depth interspersed with short term experienced players here and there….I dont think we can afford to do anything else.

One reason I find the Miller situation different and acceptable is that we have a guy who is said by many good judges to be a future star in Brooks. It seems Brooks will debut this season and plays in a specialist position where limited options usually exist. Back row though, your looking at around 5 players selected in a squad and probably wanting 8-10 viable options within the greater squad. I get your point though ink and it's valid reason.

ava and akoula have the same experience as spence.

The difference is that both Ava and Akoula made an impact whereas Spence has looked completely out of his depth.

akoula iirc didnt make much of an impact.
you're not judging seasoned first graders that you've been watching for years, you're talking about people who you've watched half a dozen times. these opinions will vary. ava might not be doing what potter asked him to do.
again, you're not being patient.. spence may come good, may not.. you cant make a decision like this in a couple of games.

Spence was more of a stand out in NYC then Santi was.

Santi was utterly owned by the Broncos NYC because of the size of their pack.

It stands to reason we would get worse from Santi in NRL

owned by the broncos pack,u kidding 52 tackles and 126 metres in attack.if u call that being owned
u must be from another planet :crazy

that is owned mate, if it was the Tiger's NRL pack it woulda been 200 and 70+ tackles

He can come into NSW Cup (or FG if he fits in nicely) next year if he can keep up a consistent performance for the season; especially during the Tiger's final run. I think a few games at NSW Cup is needed to determine how he goes against men before throwing him in the deep end like Benji seems to love doing *cough* 4 shoulder recontructions *cough*

I think Spence is a plotter. I never even noticed him watching him play in state cup. For all his size and weight, he doesn't pose a threat to the opposition in his runs the way big Ava, Sue or even Akauola does.

I should add Groat in to the list too. He's been solid since his return

I dont agree with that Spensc was a bigger stand out than Santi (and reckon you would be in the minority), and I dont think Santi was owned by the broncos pack.

I do however think that the older body of Spence is prob a better option now.

For a middle third player like Santi, it is a big step up from NYC to NRL.I think Santi will be a very reliable first grader, much in teh Shaun Fensom role.
