James Tedesco. Mitchell Moses. Luke Brooks. Robbie Farah.

Four household names not only for Wests Tigers fans but for NRL fans as well.

Combined, they’ve been billed as part of the spine of the future for Wests Tigers, the driving force in whatever future success the Club will have.

All despite the fact they haven’t even taken the field together yet.

“It’s really good to be playing with those other three guys for the first time,” said Brooks as he returned to training this week at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

“Every team needs a good spine if they’re going to play well, and I think having those guys in the team is great. They’re some of the best players in the game in those positions and it’s good to be able to work on those combinations again.

“The biggest thing for us is just trying to get it all right for Round 1 — we’ve really only had a handful of training sessions together since Teddy came back.”

Even though they’re yet to play a single game together, it’s easy to see why there’s so much excitement around the spine of the Wests Tigers.

One is an international representative at the age of 22\. Brooks himself is the youngest ever NRL All Stars player and the reigning Dally M Rookie of the Year.

One is the Club’s longest serving player and captain, a premiership-winning player who has tasted success at every level of representative football available.

And the other is Moses, the final of the quartet to make his first-grade debut.

Rugby league fans will hardly forget his performance three weeks into his NRL career where he had a hand in six tries to help Wests Tigers thrash the eventual grand-finalists Canterbury Bulldogs 46-18 at ANZ Stadium — seemingly offer a glimpse of exactly what would be on show when the quartet eventually made it on to the field together.

Three of the four are yet to even register 26 NRL games in their career, but despite that, the spine is one that Wests Tigers fans are rightly excited about.

It’s certainly exciting the veteran of the group, captain Robbie Farah.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on those three young guys, but they’re some of the best young players I’ve seen running around,” he said.

“They’re all great guys on and off the field, and there’s no doubt that keeping those guys together is great for the future of this Club and its success.

“My job’s just trying to get them on the front foot and letting them play.

“I don’t think people realise how good these guys are going to be,” he said.

“I’ve got big wraps on all three of them, but I on Teddy [Tedesco] in particular.

He’s due for a bit of good luck, and I think as soon as he has an injury-free season, people are going to see that he’s one of the best young players in the competition.”

“They [all] just have so much confidence. They’re all so talkative and energetic and it’s something that rubs off on everyone else in the team.

The spine certainly has class but unless the Pigs carry it forward it wont mean much…

Very exciting times indeed. Farah is not one taken to over speaking, and so for him to say "I dont think people realise how good these guys are going to be" is pretty amazing.

I think we have all seen how good Tedesco is, and had a reasonable insight into Brook's potential. I am most interested to see how Moses goes. I dont think we are going to miss Anasta!!!

I said it before and I will say it again…....if they all stay fit and uninjured this combination will take us to the finals and be a force to reckon with.....

Two words ...potential and versatility .....how they are managed will be the defining moment this year for the great WTs..........

The ""PIGS""as the forwards have been referred to are also a major part of the TEAM,the 9 is part of the "PIGS"and should have full control of them..being the capt and leader,Galloway and Woods should also know their job by now and should lead by example, the youth of the forward pack should develope further with good leadership. All in all the whole team should gel and back each other up for the whole game…no good the "PIGS doing an outstanding job if the others only have a vague idea....or vice versa...we may as well start again if that's the case......its a team game.....

If these boys stay healthy, we'll go alright and I'll give us a chance in every game.

As Geo said if the forwards can do their job every week , they will have a chance of winning

Fair comment Willow

Is this the best spine we've had since Prince left? Just need the 1, 6, 7 to show their true potential.

Its just potential at the moment from what we have seen in first grade so far. I hope they prove they are as good as they are expected to be.

:master:

:master: :master: :master: No pigs no spine game hasnt changed in 100 years(except 2005) .If the game is quickened up this year aka 2005 like they keep saying well then we are a massive chance but if it aint well then we need our forwards to stand up and do the hard yards.

No problem with the forwards (pigs).
If Jason Taylor gets the defence right will be right.

We do not have a problem with lack of "Pigs". Woods, Galloway, Lodge, Tupau and Ava are all more than capable of making dirty meters when needed. We also have depth in this position with Buchanan and Dallas so our Front Row is not going to be an issue.

Back Row will be the real test but I have faith Sue and Sironen will step up.

Sue has been dissappointing and Sirro could be a great backrower if he applies himself,Liolevave and Funaki are definite NRL players and should get a run.
