LIVE GAME *spoilers* Tonga v Samoa

Live Game Discussion
Both 5/8s are pretty average. Iongi struggling out if position and Talagi making a lot of errors.
Anyone know if Soni Luke is contracted for 2026?

He is looking at a super league move, i don't know how he doesn't have any NRL offers

Haha 9 have given up...news is on

Kayo still holding out

The betting on the game would play a part on it not being abandoned

Samoa warming up....five minutes to go

You have to wonder where the Australian sides are going to find the forwards to match these sides in the future with more and more showing allegiance to the Pacific islands.

Not a bad pack for Samoa-Haas, Junior, May, Papali ,Molo, Nanai. Good luck to Roos taking them on.

Is it just me, or does the off season feel really short all of a sudden. We still have footy in some form for another couple of weeks, into mid-November. Then trials kick off in February. It’s only about 2-2 and a half months where we have no footy.

Yeah I don't agree with it

I'm happy for players to play for Samoa ...Tonga ....Cook Islands
But to then still take the 30 k and play SOO ....just wrong ......
It won’t get changed though as the NRL won’t want to face repercussions from that decision. The Polynesian influence will continue to grow in the game as some of them are incredibly talented and in fairness some of them were actually born in Australia, either NSW or QLD to the ones that are. And technically that still does make them Australian, and it still technically does make them Queenslanders or New South Welshmen (least to the ones that were born here). Just have to accept that eventually majority of players that play Origin in the future will have some ties to a Polynesian country and might decide to play for them rather than Australia. I might be a real old man when it happens but eventually (unless the NRL scrap Origin or do decide to change the eligibility criteria) almost all the players in the future that play Origin will have some sort of Polynesian ties, there won’t be many players in the future that won’t in some capacity.

What are the rules around eligibility for the Pacific nations? Do they need to have parents/grandparents born there?

Many of the current players would meet these requirements as there has been a lot move to Australia the past couple of decades, but over time a lot less may qualify

Good point. Yes Grandparents.

Nanai's individual try was brilliant.

Didn't pay much attention to Eels season - so not aware of his form, but Paulo was so, so good.
