I don’t know if it’s by design or through JRey’s stronger personality that he has developed a more influential bond with Grant? **Perhaps Madge has decided to use Brooks as a running half?** The trio has obviously worked together at training and developed a plan A. But in the heat of battle when time is at a premium often plan B is the default position. Either way, Brooks really needs to start being a little more demanding and spend more time with Grant. imo.

Hope so! Use the player’s strength I say. I’d love to see Brooks run more often, he’s a quick little bugger.

Grub and Grant = 👍 If Grub can play out this season and next in similar fashion and injury free, then he might not be such a bad Cleary purchase after all - we just had to have patience.

The left side is doing something. Not letting points in . And scoring occasionally. You’re looking at it wrong . It has to be in plus/minus. The left plus/minus would be towards the top of the league . Whereas the right would be league average because that’s where all our tries are let in .
I know your fantasy team might not be getting the points you want because you’ve got brooks and mbye , but back here in the real world , that side of the field is going great .

For 2020

Kind of ruins the idea that they let in more than they score. We have a positive for and against so the points scored on the right will be higher than points conceded.

No one said that . I actually said it looks to be 1 for 1 on the right . And that was without statistics I was just using the eye test . Also the left barely concede and score a little more than that which is what I said .
The stats pretty much match exactly what I said

Were set then...our left hand side can match(maybe?) the weakest teams in the comp so far...we dont score many, but they dont either.
If thats the case, move over Roosters ..were heading for yr trophy cabinet!!
Next few weeks will reveal all.
Like many on this forum, just feel Brooks is one of our best runners and wanna see him unleashed..probably restrained only by himself

Maybe we should call Brooks the turtle, or the snail... never know when he's going to poke his head out of his shell.

Lol . Defence wins comp mate . I’m sick of explaining what seems like basic common sense, and simple mathematics to me. You’re just one of those BrOoKs SuX guys. It’s based on nothing.
So irritating . I would hate to be a coach or club having to answer to people like you all the time . It would drive me insane

Just finally it’s not like he’s not dynamic in attack either . He’s the only player on the weekend to make a linebreak totally off his own . I just don’t know what guys like you even watch

Insanity is what happens when the patient allows their delusion opinions based on their subjective "observations" to believed despite being in direct conflict with the facts and statistics.Sound familiar??
Sounds like you are well on yr way there without any help from me buddy!!

"How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?"

There are a few certainties in life. One is death, another is taxes, and of course, irrational and unreasonable hate for Luke Brooks and David Nofoaluma are impossible to stop. When will people accept that these guys are up there with the best in their positions?

Brooks played well last night. Both halves are working well together.

Unsure what the point of this thread is.

Brooks has a good combination with Mybe, giving him early ball. Mbye was there also to field Brooks' kick which lead to Nofoaluma's try. Brooks and McIntyre worked that nice move which nearly resulted in McIntyre under the posts.

Yup...seems to be a plan to feed both of our centres with early ball to spread the defence thin. Matty Johns spoke of this on NRL 360 a few years back. You need to go back and forth at each edge. A defensive line is like an elastic band. Each time you hit an edge, the band stretches, compresses and becomes uneven. You have to continuously stretch it back and forth in order to create space and desired results.

The strength of Mbye and Brooks in defence also allows Luciano to play his natural game. It is a team game and Brooks is playing that game. I would like to see Madden brought in to work with Brooks. I believe they have the makings of a great pairing.

But they’re not in conflict ?!?! They were literally posted last night 3/4 comments before this one . And they say exactly what I’ve been saying. We are really strong down the left defensively , score 27%of our tries there , and we are/were weaker defensively down the right but that’s where our attacking weapons are.

Like I said , you’re like Deniro having a 1 Way conversation with the mirror .

It has been long mused by some on here that the right side, specifically Nofo, lets in more than he scores.

Obviously in 2020 that line of thought is not correct. May be in seasons gone by but not at the moment.

Maguire has had to switch players to strengthen the right side. So Maguire believed our defence was sufficiently weak on that side to warrant a change.

Yes, that is true. I'm sure we could go through game threads from earlier rounds and you will still see comments about the right leaking points.

Anyway it was just an observation on my part, I'm not prepared to get into an argument over it.

Well done Brooksy against the Bulldogs, did exactly what your coach and Team would have wanted, re-starts, great defence and had the defence guessing, coming along even better.

The problem I see is there is an expectation on Brooks to win a game on his own ..if that doesn't occur he is a failure..In reality very few players in the game now can do that and very few if ever..the one's that did are Immortals..

What he can do is contribute to us winning games and bust his arse trying when we lose..I have never seen him not try..

The Dogs win is a good example the clear plan was to attack the Dogs left edge with Reynolds Garner Leilua and Nofoaluma it played dividends we destroyed them so they get the glory at the same time Brooks contributed to both Talau tries we scored on our left as well as a clear line break on his own ..no one created that for him which lead to Nofoaluma's 2nd TRY..defended like he normally does often with back to back efforts on much bigger bloke on the tryline..chased kicks forcing line drop outs..and even long kick that found the grass..I know this cause hobbo fell off his lounge in the live thread when he did..

Yet it still wasn't enough because he's Luke Brooks..
