Do you need to be a follower, or know the previous movies?
Ive seen the original…and bits of others...but not a staunch fan

No, having only gotten back into them with the last couple. Could easily be viewed as any other stand alone movie, particularly as most leave an opportunity for a sequel.

Im not so sure it could stand alone as a movie. It would be a pretty crap ending if a new hope didn't exist.

What an abomination. Someone is trying to sell these.

I really don't get these kinds of things, mixing two totally unrelated themes together on a T-shirt. Like Star Wars and the Tigers or Sons of Anarchy and the Tigers, which is another i've seen. It's dumb.

Not really..No

All the Easter Eggs relate to Ep IV A New Hope..

The new characters stand alone…

Oh and 365 Days to Ep VIII...

Nerd alert :deadhorse:

I'm confused! Judging by the trailer it looks like it is completely different from the previous Force Awakens that was showing earlier in the year - different actors, different characters, different story line - I don't get it. I assumed that the next film would just follow on from the last one, especially since the Force Awakens left a big opening for a sequel.

Ummm….that's because it is... Star Wars Ep VIII in production following on from Force Awakens will be released Dec 2017..and then Ep IX to end the sequel trilogy..

Disney also will produce stand alone Star Wars Stories apart from the trilogies..spin off's Han Solo is in pre-production due for release May 2018 ..Others rumoured in the pipeline a Bounty Hunter Movie based on Bobo Fett ...Yoda - the early years Pre Phantom Menace and the life and times of Obi-Wan Kenobi..

Oh ok, still confusing - I didn't realise they were doing this. Thanks for clarifying Geo :nerd:

So lets assume I've only seen Star Wars ,Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi where do those 3 movies sit in the scheme of things

What is the best order to show my kids?

I was shown, 4 5 6 1 2 3 7 3.5

It was disappointing in rogue 1 knowing what was going to happen, just lacking suspense.

But the Force Awakens was AMAZING. Kept me guessing and wanting more. I am still trying to figure out what happens in xiii

Iplease tell me what order I should show

They were EpisodesIV V and Vi …the original trilogy...George then made Episodes I II and III known as the prequel trilogy. ....he then sold Lucasfilm to Disney for 4 billion who are making Episodes VII VIII and IX ..the sequel trilogy plus various other spin off stand alone Star Wars Stories...

So they sit in the middle of the trilogies...

For anyone who has never watched any the otder to watch is always up for debate..i would watch in date release order but if you watched 1 through 7 that works too..

Before you ask Rogue One is set just before the Events of Star Wars A New Hope Ep IV..the first one...

Your profile says you are 12 so I think your kids would be a bit little to get much out of them now..I'd wait a few years then let them watch in date release order..And don't tell them Luke is Anakin's Son…or Kylo's Grandfather..and it would be way to hard to explain why Leia kisses her brother...
