Starford To’a #253

Pascoe would have signed this bloke on 700 off two months form where he is still looking lame some weeks.

This is where Richo earns his crust, you offer him a fair value and he takes it or leaves it.

All things considered ,his fair value to WTs is not too far south of that.
If he "leaves it"as you suggest as a possibility.our alternatives are Douhi..Naden..???
Only midfield attacking talent we have
And yes,,,its been short lived..but as said earlier were not in a position to be overly choosy atm

Part of turning the club around is no doubt not acting desperately anymore. That probably means sometimes you take one step back to move two forward.

I get nervous when these players suddenly catch fire in the last yr of their contract.
He has always shown signs - I really don't think this year is any different.

He is still rocks and diamonds, just more diamonds so far this season.

Definitely a keeper. Benji has always backed him, so hopefully his extension is just a matter of time.

The Instagram story was very strange and unnecessary. The average fan won't be paying Star any attention - there is zero conjecture around his his extension outside of this forum, and the rumours barely made any news, until Mole visited the forums.

Yeah but based on his form this year we know he’s got it in him. It’s all on the coach to get the best out of him week in and week out

Some of the tries he has scored this year are absolutely freakish and we don’t have many players with the same tackle breaking ability

I might be wrong but I don’t think he got his hands on the ball in the last two sets v NQ. I just don’t see him going after games. Given early ball he can create something but that’s a fairly limited arsenal he’s offering up. I’d sign him, but not on silly money.

That's the fault of the halves not toa

Those last 2 sets were awful from the entire team considering how much we were throwing it around prior

Yeah from memory it was a Naden hit up wrecked the first one. And they nailed a great kick to put us on the back foot in the last minute.

The best centres don’t just stand out wide and wait for it, I just don’t have him in elite company at this stage.
Even having to discount him being in elite company is OTT. He’s had a couple good games, and he’s still contracted for next year. I don’t understand the fuss over needing to extend him ASAP.

Yeah that's right the best centres play around the ruck with 3 mins to go and then when the ball goes wide and they are out of position for an overlap it's not their fault right?

Get some game awareness mate
Latrell at his peak as a centre was having 6-8 runs a game. Never saw him go looking for dirty hits up ever. But when they needed him in the 2019 GF they gave him just a sniff in the dying minutes and the rest is history.

Every player coming off contract now is seeing big dollars. A couple more franchises will force contract values through the roof, it’s the old demand and supply thing. Guys like Star probably can demand a 30% pay rise. Hate to be in charge of a playing roster now
