Why is Api capable of playing 80 minutes and Liddle is not? Same for any other DH as well.

Grant couldn't do it. It's a tough position.

2 Where has Madge said that Liddle cannot play 80 minutes? Why when he has a full off season
is he any different than other DH's that CAN play 80 minutes. He will be just as match fit as any
other DH in the NRL.


When was the last time Liddle played 80mins of NRL? Has he ever? Young bloke coming of a LONG break ( a couple of games last year). He will clearly be short on conditioning. No way anyone would be confident of Liddle playing 80 IMO

If they are both picked in the NRL team for round one.......

Kick percentages don’t always show the whole picture. You aren’t able to see how many are from in front or from the sideline.

It’s not a perfect system but it’s a good way to analyse which players are actually nailing hard shots to win matches, and who’s just lobbing easy kicks over from in front

Not many hookers do play 80 minutes these days. If you get 65 out of him that's okay. Give Simpkins the other 15.

Hoping the trials give some young guys a run,Liddle is a classy DH. Simkins more a running DH, more suited when opposing forwards are tired.Depending on our attack especially how the halves perform will dictate who gets the job.

Unless the club signs a high percentage kicker the chances of making the finals are indeed below average ,as some have said hit and miss this is the most glaring problem this team has had for years and STILL has not been rectified!

We need a specialist fullback and a specialist goal kicker. Why not sign Gareth Widdop on a short term contract. He would definitely fill these roles without any problem. It's no rocket science.

This just isn’t true though. The storm just won the competition with a guy who kicks at 70%. Our attack was top 4 last year . If we shore up our defence , that’s the strongest way to success . AD was doing a good job in the end and so was mono before he left

Cam Smith kicked well above 80%

Its no good comparing against Smith,he has ice in veins.Just a good solid kicker will do.

I honestly think Russ that it will take Jacob about 4/5 rounds to get everything in sync and will be a huge contributor towards the middle and end of the season..I do reckon Madge will be giving him about 50/60 mins a game and he will give maybe Simpkin the rest on a shared basis to start,,,Madge wouldnt want to risk JL to injury or burnout or over exert Simpkin as he bloods him into NRL fg...

I could be completely wrong...just my honest opinion...

...... And I also think Madge will give him a starting spot first up as a big thanks for his commitment to going to the Storms for the season. That was a big deal for both him and our club.

Not sure if you'd give someone a first grade spot as a "thank you" but it'd have to be a big fall from being a starter (before injury) at the Premiers to not being in the 13 for the no.11 team.

Would expect whomever Maguire is planning on filling the 6 in place of Doueihi in round one will be seeing a good bit of time there in the trial.
