Remember for Rd1 .. Dhoueihi is suspended. Madge will not play Roberts on the wing .. if Laurie comes across he play at 1.. and Mbye will go to 6. Madge is still not confident of Liddle going the 80 mins, so will have a back up 9 on the bench, and therefore one of the forwards will be dropped, probably Garner.

1 AD is suspended, you say Mbye to 6, Laurie is not contracted - who plays 1?

2 Where has Madge said that Liddle cannot play 80 minutes? Why when he has a full off season
is he any different than other DH's that CAN play 80 minutes. He will be just as match fit as any
other DH in the NRL.

When was the last time Liddle played 80mins of NRL? Has he ever? Young bloke coming of a LONG break ( a couple of games last year). He will clearly be short on conditioning. No way anyone would be confident of Liddle playing 80 IMO

We need a specialist fullback and a specialist goal kicker. Why not sign Gareth Widdop on a short term contract. He would definitely fill these roles without any problem. It's no rocket science.

This just isn’t true though. The storm just won the competition with a guy who kicks at 70%. Our attack was top 4 last year . If we shore up our defence , that’s the strongest way to success . AD was doing a good job in the end and so was mono before he left

Totally agree those who are against signing Widdop & Mansour have no idea. They bring experience & great goal kicking which are two things we don’t have much off & have both played at the highest level & add Angus Crichton to that list if we can entice him due to Madge being the coach & we will definitely be playing semi final football in 2021.

I take that back . I had a look he kicked at 86%. I swear I read his kicking percentage at 69%. Nope I was wrong

IMHO Crichton and Smith would be a great improvement for 2nd row and lock.
If Laurie is our FB, and AD and Momirovski our kickers we do not need to buy Widdop and Monsour, as they do not offer improvement to what we have ATM e.g Widdop vs Doueihi, and Monsour vs AC.

Experience is overrated IMO.
Goalkicking would be handy though.

We were second most experienced team last year (which will drop in 2021 losing Benji, Rowdy, ET etc) and panthers were least experienced. It can be an important factor but I just think it’s overemphasised and young fellas like AJ, Talau, Simpkin may as well get a good run while we build for 2022

Moma kicks at 75% so I don’t see why Widdop’s value is enhanced by his ability to kick goals.

AD has a good kicking action, and a fair boot on him, he just needs to practice.
Goal kicking is just repetition, if he's 100% healthy (the thigh would not have helped last year) and stays behind at training to hoof a couple over the blackdot.
I think he's an above 80% kicker.

Let's use Api from Pamfers as an example.

Both he and Liddle have started pre season training and both will have a Christmas break and the train up until the trial game in 2021.
If they are both picked in the NRL team for round one.......

Why is Api capable of playing 80 minutes and Liddle is not? Same for any other DH as well.

Doesn't matter what they all did in 2020 - they all start 2021 from scratch.

Don't get the Liddle can't play 80 minutes - not sure about 80 but he has played 73 minutes previously.

Lets hope they are working on this aspect with the players.Its difficult to buy any quality player at the moment and not many kick goals.We have to many holes to fill at the moment to just buy a player that kicks but is not required elswhere,but i agree its a problem.

We tried that with Jordan Rankin. Unfortunately at the time, it probably cost us JAC. It's not an easy problem to fix. A top kicker that's also a top player is like gold.

I don't know how many shots at goal Momo has had to achieve his 75% but my guess would be a relatively small amount. If I'm him, with all the competition for spots in the backline this season, I'm kicking goals down the local every waking hour during the off season. That's what will get him on the team.

It takes time to build up that conditioning, like years. If you have either never done it or not for years, you are not doing it in rd 1

Not many, about 20 odd, so About 27? What I like about Moma is the way he bounced back after missing that clutch kick against the dogs. When the dogs who won the game were the ones consoling him. We’ve all been there, you look around for a blade of grass to hide under . For me, he is our starting centre and the others can fight for the spot.
