No. Slater said that. Unless Woods refutes that claim, then we are to assume it happened. In which case, a pretty cowardly thing to do.
Based on what?
Whether you mean to or not, you sound like you are trivialising suicide. It’s all well and good to beat your chest before the fact, but if someone does something drastic, don’t then go crying that you had no idea. And just for the record, let’s just say for argument sake, you call someone a grub then they top themselves. It’s most likely not the sole reason that lead to that outcome. They weren’t feeling on top of the world, suddenly they get called a grub and that’s enough for them to neck themselves. What’s more likely is a myriad of other issues that just built up like a crescendo. Being called a name wasn’t the direct cause, more likely that it was the final straw. Like if you have had a really bad day at work, just absolutely shit. Then you drive home and someone cuts you off in traffic, and you go absolutely nuclear on them. You probably wouldn’t have if you hadn’t had a bad day, but you were just at your breaking point. It was the straw that broke the camels back. I have been in those situations before. Something really affected me, but then it’s something that in normal circumstances would be relatively minor after that is what really pushes you over the edge. So think of it as standing on the edge of a cliff. At that point, you don’t need much of a nudge. And FTR Slater was quite adamant that it wasn’t affecting him. He just was looking out for the next person. Because quite rightly, you never know
Again. Slater was fine. Your emotions are clouding what he really meant by the statement. He wasn’t concerned with himself, he was trying to bring awareness to mental health and to remind people to go easy.
How many times are you going to misinterpret his message?
