that's because both papalli and milford are current news from the past few days.

A really terrible culture they have down there it seems. They need to implement a no drinking during the season policy.
 
Milford & Papalli both caught drinking two days out from Warriors Round 25 game . The senior playing group wanted them stood down but the coach (Andrew Dunemann) decided to play both of them. These guys have no idea, where is the discipline within this club.
 
I don't understand the problem…...they were drinking 2 days before the game. So what? Who do you know who can't recover from drinking in 2 days? It's a different matter if they turned up to training/recovery hungover. Yes, it's unprofessional but why should the players be stood down?
 
Given all the controversy surrounding the club this year involving players demonstrating a lack of discipline and breaching team protocols, obviously the club has informed players of their responsibilities re drinking and what is expected of them off the field. The general public would not be aware of what protocols have been put in place at the Raiders but one would expect that it may involve either a drinking ban or limitations on alcohol consumption so many days prior to a game or during injury recovery process etc given that the matter has drawn such attention . Both players are now facing disciplinary action. It is not a matter of being able to handle a drink two days prior to a game but adhering to your club's protocols/policies which they have both obviously breached. Not only unprofessional but both have shown a total disregard for whatever processes the Raiders have in place currently re drinking (hence the disciplinary action), given that Milford wants to go to Brisbane maybe he is wanting the club to sack him!!
 
I try to defend league players when co-workers mention their intelligence or lack thereof, but it is just getting ridiculous now. Can't these blokes take up golf, drive go-karts, or even sell porno mags. Anything to minimise their boredom and the desire to drink…
 
I think it's a case of not wanting to be in Canberra. Lots of people drink when they're not happy with their jobs, I think that's what all these players are doing. It's obvious Canberra don't know how to deal with player welfare that much, especially when it comes to superstars they place all their expectations on apparently.

Honestly, canberra is extremely boring as a young person unless you're a big drinker or partier. I moved back to sydney after living in canberra for a year due to sheer boredom.
 
Abbots there now. We will see more budgie smuggles than drinkers there now
