Stefano Utoikamanu #241

Twal made two half breaks in 5 minutes already this year. Wouldn't mind him seeing him a bit wider but don't think it will happen.

Aloiai Twal.

Disagree Earl...Twal has a much bigger motor than Aloiai..In the 1st 2 games he also appeared to have added punch to his carries and a much quicker play the ball as well

Aloiai still looks like an impact player to me..that provides great impact but shorter stints..

Been impressed with Twal’s motor as well , invaluable with the minutes he puts in .

didn't we sign him from next year on? if so the eels lose out on his services this year

How? He’s still contracted to Parra for 2020

The Tigers should have another go at getting him this season ... with the Micky Mouse comp coming and no Reserve grade comp Parra have no real use for him , they have more than enough forwards in front of him to cover injuries in a slashed comp .
This would give the young guy a chance to settle in and the club could start to mould him to what they want ....

I think in the current circumstances, the Tigers will be very happy only having 29 on the books.

He does not have to be apart of the top squad he is already signed for next season ! Imo he should be part of training when every that starts up again this would be a great opportunity for him and the team in general to move faster forward towards the 2021 season .

less likely to be injured .

The way the Tigers have been talking about him it seems to me they are expecting a tussle at year end.

I think not playing this year won’t be great for the big bopper. They normally need miles in the legs and body before 1sts. It will be very hard for any reserve grade player to be called up into any 1sts team this season & be solid let alone great.

I really would prefer if he had some gamrtime dis season

Unfortunately as for Stefano there will be a lot of players coming through who won't be getting the experience that this year's CC and JF competitions would have otherwise provided. COVID isolation of the Top 30 will even stop them from training with the NRL squad which otherwise might have been an option.

Not only that, there doesn't appear to be a lot of communication from the club which is reasonable given the uncertainty for non Top 30 and development players whose aspirations would be in limbo at the moment after a long & hard off season. They must be incredibly frustrated.

I'm not sure if there is any planning going on other than "You'll be playing Ron Massey or Sydney Shield from 1 July" etc. What happens then with the CC and JF coaches? Are they stood down and just on JobKeeper which finishes at the end of September? Will there be money for them for next year or are we looking at a similar gap between NRL and the rest from 2021?

Players get injuries.season long injuries.Although it ain’t ideal, don’t think it will matter too much to the naturally gifted players. The players that need to work harder with less talent could be affected with no state cup.

Would be good if he can play Ron Massey this year. He’s gonna be good either way but if he plays this year it’s even better.
