Stefano Utoikamanu #241

It looked like he was under strict instructions to play safe, he pushed them back a bit in his 4 runs, looked safe in defence

Engine needs a bit of work.
Sucking in the big ones after a couple of minutes.

That's an interesting observation and an interesting comparison point with Russell Packer.

The thing that amazed me about Packer the other night was his fitness. He has played, what, around 10 minutes in the last 12 months, and yet he played long minutes and was very effective.

In complementing Packer in his presser, Madge praised his strength and conditioning staff for getting Packer into shape.

Doesn't sound like Stefano has enjoyed the same benefits with Parra.

Let's hope our fitness keeps us in the grind with Parra next week.

Even one of the commentators mentioned it, maybe Johns, that every young forward who Madge plays always come into the NRL physically ready. Always fit and strong, Stefano is a hard trainer apparently so he will look even better with us

That's interesting. I missed that - was watching Fox.

Disproves Cronk's absurd assertion that good players won't develop their game in our team - that they need to go to a glamour team to do that. What garbage ! Matterson last year and Luciano this year prove John's point.

Looking forward to see Blore unleashed when Madge thinks he is ready. Can't be far away.

Still despite his obvious lack of match fitness he was struggling with, I was impressed that he kept his head focused and was in a really good position for all the tackles he made. I’m glad he got more game time.

Not unusual for some players ..once you get your second wind is the biggest thing

Madge has brought in plenty of young players and developed them into quality first graders. He loves giving young guys a chance

Was never going to set the world on fire after not playing all year. Will get better and fitter as the year progresses. He’s a big boy!

I won't be surprised if Stefano is named to start against us ...or is changed 1 hr before kick off

Don't think they'll start him our forwards will have in their sights if they do

Preseason with us he will be fine

Fitter Faster Stronger..

Best pre-season ever

Looking forward to the ‘training the place down’ commentary.

After seeing Packer on Friday, I might believe it.

About as tall as RCG
Much thicker legs and arms ,still probably growing.
Can’t wait to see him i our colours! Our pack is going to be up there next year

And minus the ridiculous moustache. Does RCG look in the mirror and think to himself “this moustache is totally banging”. He must right? Why else would you have it.

Haha looks extra bad on him for some reason.
Few people can pull a Massive moustache off

Eels have done him no favours. 10 seconds on the field one week then maybe 10 minutes yesterday.
Didn't look to happy after yesterdays stint. Hope Tigers are staying in touch so he does not lose confidence in himself.
