Stefano Utoikamanu #241

I think we are praying he becomes our Petro
Metre eater,solid middle defender
From his very limited game time this year, the only thing I can say is he is mammoth of a lad
Doesn’t look overly aggressive like Blore
I can’t judge too much yet.

People will have to remember he’s still young and Learning the game. Reports are he’s a big body with a good motor who gets through a lot of work. Played NSW U18’s and U20’s, scored the match winner in the 18’s and had impressive stats in the 20’s.

He will come good for us but everyone will have to be patient

Hes Big and evidently quite mobile based on advice from my Parra mates.

Recruiting Young and Big = Thumbs Up

Hope he's good but he looked pretty slow in his limited minutes in 1st grade. Didn't appear to be much of an impact player.

I don’t think he’s an impact player, the comparison he gets is with Payne Haas. Will make big metres and be difficult to slow down which sounds good to me we lack metres up the middle especially off the bench

He has played bugger all minutes at Parra , they kept him there in spite when they could have let him come to us early , his heart probs not in it , could be a lot better next year

some on this forum will never say ‘oh, i made a mistake’!
Many ‘took the knee’ to Packer, even after one good game after 2 very awful years, he was for them our best prop ever!
Or Jennings, he was the best thing after sliced bread, until he started playing for us!
So I would not be surprised if all ‘JAC or nothing’ mob, will soon recogise that his defence and even catching bombs are not his strong points!

From what i've seen of this guy playing in the NRL .. he's big enough for sure .. BUT he did come across as being a large pillow out there .. Geee I really hope for our sake, that this is because his heart wasn't in it playing for Parra this season .. !!

im just glad that Eels actually gave him ANY game time at all

at least madge has some footage to watch and points for him to improve on

Bang on RE JAC.

Don't get me wrong, I want JAC here because we need speed badly. But the same people who hate on Nofo and want JAC so desperately will be hating on JAC in no time, if he does end up here.

Jury is still out for me. I feel like if he was really that good, he’d be a bigger part of the Eels side this year. There’s so much expectation on him that he’ll be labeled a plodder by the halfway point of next season. Mark my words.

Oh really .... here we go .... just can’t wait to write people off.
Sign a mature forward .... a plodder.
Sign young well qualified forward with potential ..... a plodder.
Release a forward in mid development like Siro or Paseka and they turn out good .... it’s crap recruitment or we have crap coach time.
Just can’t win with some on here.

It’s Monday, so i’ll forgive you for being shirty at me. All I’m saying is, I will wait till I see him running around in our colours before I make a judgement. Not saying he’ll be a plodder either. I’m saying if he doesn’t reach a certain standard that meets people’s expectations, he’ll get labeled a plodder. Not by me, by the forum. And if don’t believe me, you’ve clearly hacked Momo’s account and don’t know this place. Even Twal was getting labeled a plodder yesterday.

Let's wait and see how he turns out for us next season. I'm hopeful he'll provide some much needed impact off the bench, we need some size and aggression in the middle if we're going to do beat teams and this guy has potential, that's about all we know at this stage.

He will need a lot of time. He is a massive unit who will have played less than half an hour's footy in 18 months by the time 2021 kicks off.

My biggest worry with him are the new rules. We signed him under the old rules, the six again rule has changed the game so much. Broncos went from a next gen pack of the future, to too many lumbering big guys who could not recover quickly enough on repeats.

I read in preseason training he was killing it,was running over eels team mates, then parra hardly played him all year, and when they did he didn’t look interested, thinking new team new environment and he will be raring to go

24mins over a few games, no reggies all year.
He is going to take sometime to just get use to game play let alone his age.

My expectations for next year is he plays a bench rotation role early then by mid season becomes a regular bench player.

With Tamou, Josh, Twal, Musgrove & Mikalea we don’t need to force him into first grade we can give him time.

Who knows. Parra the grubs haven't really showcased a player that they so desperately wanted to keep.

Just shows how grubby parra really are. Wouldn’t release him and had no intention of playing him this year. The two games they gave him I think he played about 10 minutes in total. Just to make sure he wasn’t in tiger colours this year.
