WESTS Tigers are the priority the top 25 contracted players MUST play together as do the BEST youngsters IN THE 1 TEAM.....The Magpies will just keep producing them as always..

The Fonz will take care of that....HEEEEEYYYYYY...

CHILL OUT BUG,,, :supporter:

HUMPH...1ST full tear 9.5/10 for mine...

Geo youve lost me 😕

I shopped at Target at Roselands for Xmas. On the back of the shopper docket was a Bulldogs season ticket offer. 12 games for 7 dollars a game. :astonished: Thats almost 3 times cheaper than some of our general admission packages. :exclamation:

I am a perfectionist with my job. I am a hard marker. I feel HUMPH has a lot of improvement in him. Thats all im saying.

Shopper Dockets    Greenberg is probably selling Meat Trays and stuff in our backyard also….

Humpty, get your act together!!!
:deadhorse:

Guys I said that the Region is Perceived in a certain way not that it was filled with a certain socio-economic class. Im no snob I live near Geo…

I want our Tigers to continue to be a national brand and no more just limited to Balmain /Campbelltown only team (Like Penrith, Cronulla). Thats why the Macarthur Westfield thing came across Low brow to me.

I loved the " Cat amongst the pigeons " thing though. That woke you up Bug. Welcome back.

Hump has done real good - However the honeymoon is over and the momentum the club is carrying must result in better things on and off the field for me.

I've lost you Bug …What a surprise that is... :astonished:

I remember now BUT... English is your second language so I'll type sloooower...

The job of CEO of the WESTS Tigers is a difficult one cause....

There has forever been the element of Wests v Balmain...has to be the faceless fossils that make up the Board of the WESTS Tigers ensure that FACT...you know who there are....It has been 11 years now it's TIME for the WESTS Tigers grow and move on...firmly establish IT'S OWN identity...Hence the new look jumpers...there are kids now that are old enough to just know WESTS Tigers for them it's Maggies or Balmain WHO..hook them while the are YOUNG...I say

Humphreys is quietly achieving the changes...

Now your rant was do do...Humph gave us a traditional game back to each fortress and Got a bucket load from the Corporates and you give him 4.5/10...harsh indeed....
:sign:

P.S.... I know you are very good at your job mate ...that's why your 'word on the street' is always safe and reliable...umm sometimes..

wests tigers is bigger that macarthur region etc.

We are a national brand

the tigers management and marketing mob probably didn't want to subject harry and the media on that long drive south, hence the leichardt thingy.

In addition i don't want my wt to be seen as boxed into that region as it is perceived as very houso-ish.

Humph has been a machine so far - after all he got us benji 4 life, lote for 3 and resigned coach sheens.

without the mcarthur area there would be no 2005 premiership and no hope of a premiership in the future as 99% of our past and future stars will come from that area a lot of you humphreys loving balmain faithful that refuse to let go of old balmain v wests need to realiser thatt without a mcarthur led successful team lawrence dwyer, fulton, gibbs etc etc etc humphreys wouldnt be raising $1 for our team .you talk about a national brand well some of you need to realise that the wests tigers extend a little further west than darling st leicchardt.

Sigh. A topic about the professionalism of our CEO as percieved by one forumer has again descended into the old arguments that have long since ceased to matter.

The sponsorship announcement was held at Leichhardt because that is where Harry T wanted it to be held. His roots are at Leichhardt Oval from a football perspective. Please explain the sense in trying to tell a new major sponsor, the greatest monetary valued sponsorship in our history mind you, that he can't announce it at the home ground he feels most attatched to.

Smeg you are right. Harry did want the launch at Leichhardt this is true. But can anyone on here have the Kahoonas to say that Harry wanted an orange jumper with a black V because that is also true.

People here wish for me to disengage from my Magpie roots at NRL level and just focus on my support for the NRL side which I understand but it is made quite difficult when people working at and for the JV can't disengage from their Balmain Roots.

Magpie mania is right as Geo is right to a certain extent. I can't ever see a black jersey with a white V or a white one with a black V as our main jersey but here we have an orange one with a black V.

I can support this NRL side, no problems, but some people who have input into this side need to split their loyalties and support 50/50 not anything else.

Keeping in mind that Canterbury have to fill ANZ stadium every home game, they can afford to offer tickets at that
reduced rate if it means bums on seats. We dont have that burden or luxury, with the games played at the SFS being against sides that draw a larger crowd and LO and Campbelltown having no problem selling tickets. Humphries is the best thing to happen to our club.

See I honestly do not believe that the main jersey is a Balmain throwback. I think it is a shrewd marketing move born out of a few experiences from last year. The best example I can call on is crowd prescence as shown in the semi against the Dragons and even against the Raiders. Both teams have instant brand recognition and their supporters make a large visual presence. I really loved the black jumper regardless of my roots but it never had instant brand recognition. It is more related to Penrith and the Warriors than to the Wests Tiger.

From a marketing point of view that Orange is a good move. That and it is not a Balmain colour. I have never seen a Balmain jersey with that luminous orange shade. I try to look at it from the perspective of marketing going forwards. I also believe with a bit of tweeking the alternate jersey can keep it's striking appearance and also lean a little more back towards the predominantly white Magpie jerseys that I remember. Thus achieving both goals of respecting tradition and forging a new unique path forwards

I like the Orange as well. A sea of Orange in the crowd is an awesome sight and a mighty trademark. But why have a black V on it  The 2008 2009 2010 Jerseys were more individual than what this one is. Humphreys argument is fundamentally flawed.

As for ANZ stadium being bigger allowing the Dogs the luxury of unlimited sales potential, that is a very true argument, but in hindsight, how many games did WT sell out in 2010  None  One maybe   Lets get real about this debate dudes.

Most games at Leichhart and Campbelltown could have fit in 1000s more people. Lets give our players the most amount of support possible. If WT had a supporter package of 12 games for 7 bucks for general admission areas I would buy the membersip for sure. I cant afford anything else.

Lets jump onto marketing initiatives and slay the opposition. Kudos to the Dogs with the shopper docket promotion.

Also, perhaps when the back of Jersey sponsors are secured and the Jersey is ready for sale, a new jersey launch can be done in our store at MacArthur with our superstars.

We need to be visually present in the area.

STOP - IS it True. Tigers are Orange with black Stripes!!

We need Orange, we own orange, a rival code has tried to grab orange.

Balmain and the Magpies are dead or should be, The Sooner this happens and we merge the State cup teams the Better IMO.

Id even suggest we get rid of the word Wests. Stuff tradition, stuff History. The future is the tigers build the brand make it the meanest , the coolest and the kids will gravitate

Footnote.
Dogs 2010 home crowd average - 20670
WT 2010 home crowd average -18086\. More than 2000 people less. The Benji and Robbie show should get more people than the Ennis / Roberts show.

2000 people less per game than what CS and LO can hold.

I believe a cheaper general admission 12 game package will see us reach 20000 average. Lets meet the competition head on.

In the end, it is an interdependent relationship. Neither Balmain Football Club or Western Suburbs Football Club can have access to the NRL without each other. If the merger was to cease, the NRL would give the license to a regional or interstate team. It would be folly to think it would be given to either Western Suburbs or Balmain.

I could not give a hoot where the sponsorship announcement was completed and in the end it is irrelevant. All that matters is dollars coming into the place to ensure solvency.

Despite this, I think the Easts encroachment into the Macarthur area is an issue the club will have to address in the coming years. I don't have hard numbers, but I think you could argue that 40% of the Macarthur area supports Wests with the remaining 60% being a composition of the other Sydney based teams. There would be a sufficient toe hold for any Sydney based club to set up in the region and look to thrive. The area is a tremendous nursery for rugby league and the club must do all it can to secure the talent that is developed.

PS: speaking of "houso's," correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Hayne, Folau and Inu grow up in public housing…..

BB's argument is correct but it aimed at the wrong people.

It really should be aimed at the Wests Group. A group which isn't on the same page. A football club that is based in Liverpool, two Leagues clubs that don't get a long and a council which only wants to deal directly with the Wests Tigers.

The two Wests leagues clubs might be well of financially but they lack communication and direction. The Balmain group is smart and will make sure it does everything to survive. It might be lacking funds but it has clinged to the Wests Tigers to put forward its identity. Something Wests don't do - instead trying to push on alone, hitting stumbling blocks and then whinging about been left out.

It's time to move with the times and accept your place in the scheme of things otherwise be left to perish as others move forward.
