He knows what to market and thats the Tigers brand not Magpies, they are dead and un marketable.
Face it, black and orange all the way, Magpies are and always will be associated with losing and thats just the reality of it.
I couldn't of thought of a better club to take over!

Do you think every other team has there area secured lots of sydney teams are doing the same thing its dog eat dog
No more sydney teams will come in so it wont effect us at all.
Im sure when i seen some figures a year or so a go wests tigers financially are in a better position then most other sydney teams.
Well instead of being based out at Camp Concord base yourself out Liverpool / Campbelltown / Oran Park / Gregory Hills areas. Do a dodgy like the Titans and build a Centre of Excellence with the acres of land available out there. The inner west is not a growth area and when the time comes to cull teams we may well be on the chopping block again. If we are smart we can guarantee our future existence along with Parra and Penrith (the real growth areas of the state). If we are up against Souths or Easts to remain, we will be culled make no mistake about it. Once the NRL truly becomes the NRL we need to have a long term strategy in place to ensure our survival.
We have the NSW premier as a vocal supporter, hit him up for some cash and build this centre of excellance. Even better, it would take away funding from Brookvale Oval or other teams that are asking for upgrades.
Rest easy Alf. We are the Wests Tigers. We agreed to a joint venture to avoid being punted in the first place. We are financial. We represent the inner to outer western Sydney. And like it or not, the NSWRL, ARL, NRL and the upcoming ARLC has always held an influential Balmain official to protect our interests.
Yep, sounds a good strategy. Rest easy, we merged so we have to be in the competition and worse case scenario we should have someone on some committee that will protect us. Sorry, that is not good enough for me and as Alf said, when push comes to shove, we are still behind Easts, Canterbury, St. George and Manly within the walls of power so their interests will come before Wests Tigers.
Our club is in a unique position and with an opportunity that is the envy of other clubs. We have a solid and diversified fan base within the city and the greater south west. We also provide a unique offering to sponsors. Both factors have led to us having strong sponsorship and the highest home crowds in Sydney. Yet I don't think we should be satisfied.
With our unique position, we should be aiming to become the Brisbane Broncos of the Sydney market. Dominate the sponsorship market and have average crowds of 30,000\. Now, that is not possible unless we play all games at either the SFS or Homebush, but I was interested in Humphrey's comment regarding the game splits - primarily how we take high profile games to the SFS because at Leichhardt and Campbelltown "we can't afford to turn away 10,000 fans." If we are to dominate the market, the current method is not sustainable into the future will not take this club to the next level such that we easily compete with regional and one-city clubs. What happens if/when both Campbelltown and Leichhardt are sellouts for every game? We could be turning away 80,000 fans (8 x 10,000). That is a lot of revenue to lose.
A further issue in the background is AFL in the west of Sydney. The NRL could panic and not be satisfied with just 4 games in Campbelltown and offer a couple million dollars for a club to play permanently at Campbelltown.
What do we do? Surely the club has a 10 year strategic plan. Humphreys is on record saying Campbelltown is both the club's biggest opportunity and problem. Well, what is he doing to resolve this dilemma? Does Campbelltown Stadium need to be expanded? Do more games need to be played in Campbelltown? Should we move all Campbelltown games to Lidcombe Stadium? What if we start selling out Leichhardt every match? Do we move all Leichhardt games to the SFS? What about Alf's idea of some junior academy in the south west? Surely we as fans and members can be provided with what the club's plans are for the next 10 years? As a fan, I want us to dominate and beat all clubs in Sydney into submission and have sponsors begging to use us.

LOL….so naive
So many just lap it all up
Not naive mate, personally 'informed' would be a more suited word. But whatever you chose to believe do so, it's no skin off my back. You'll always be a bitter fan…perhaps the Wests Tigers aren't for you, there are plenty of other clubs you can support.
If I come across as bitter then maybe I am. Bitter we allow one of our best junior prospects to be snatched away like it was nothing.
We wanted him, we had him…we tried to keep him on the cheap, we shouldve secured him better.
We shouldnt have been in a position with our cap we need to let good players go.
If he feels not wanted, who can blame him....we sure as hell dont seem to concerned
But yeah lets do all our players a favour and let em walk out to other clubs.
:crazy
Bitter? Yeh probably....what should I feel?
.Happy?

@Chunk said:IT IS NEARLY ALWAYS OLD MAGPIES WHO START THIS BALMAIN V MAGPIE THING, CHECK THE SECOND POST.
They have insecurity problems, Balmain are more than happy with the merger, its 50/50 but for some never good enough.
It is annoying because it holds the club back!
IMO we should count ourselves very lucky that we have Humphrey's as our leader.

Those that keep doing it should really have a look at themselves. Is there really an validity in their opinions ? Is it really worth picking on trivial points ?

I am pretty certain everyone on here wants the best for Wests Tigers, there are just different opinions of how this is achieved.
Discussions like these don't hold back the club. If they are robust, it should ensure the best outcomes.

The problem is the discussion isn't about what is best for the Wests Tigers. It keeps going over the merger.
