@alex said:Why do you say that Ron?
Peter Gentle was the coach in 2008, had the likes of Lui, Ayshford, Moltzen, Dwyer, Tagive and Woods in his team, and came 9th.
In 2009, Jones still had a few of these core players to choose from, but also developed plenty other players and took them to the Grand Final.
In 2010 he's lost the likes of Lui, Fifita bros, Corby, Dwyer (injured) etc and still has them up the top playing proper footy.
To me he has these boys working as a team and seems to coach them well

Im impressed..a Wests Tigers coach that gets real results, and develops players to fulfil theyre potential!
If he & Folkes cld work together it has to be a better combo than the current pair of losers

Yes- he's proven to be a successful assistant to a control freak, on a team that sits rougly 1/4 higher on payments, allowing a vastly superior talent level to play with & coach.
I'm not concinced.
You want a track record of turning things around quickly & getting results? Give me Brian Smith or Matt Elliott.

I personally believe sheens has a bit of magic left in him and he will see out his contract.

You say elliott turns things around quickly when hes on his fourth year with the panthers with a 41% winning percentage and yes this year they are going ok.SO FAR
Smith does tend to get his sides to the finals on most occassions but he fails really cause you play to win grand finals and hes yet to coach a team apart from bradford in england to a title.
Hes win percentage is higher only because he had a high percentage when he was coaching in england so that doeasnt count.
Sheens coached penrith to the semis for the first time in the clubs history and won 3 GF IN canberra but his stint at the cowboys wasnt so flash and there were reasons for it that most people know about.

See Alex…here's where you went wrong....Jones will never meet with Ron's seal of approval cause he obviously doesn't know anything about him...
Doesn't know that he's coached for years and was also coaching Parramatta in the initial NYC year and took them to the finals.......
Probably doesn't realise he often runs the extras for first grade or sits in the Coaches box during games.....
As sad as it is he probably has more connection to first grade than Fletcher or Leo....
It's only under 20's obviously Rugby League is a different game....unless your assistant to Bellamy...

Kearney's cv is full of successes - he was the youngest ever NZ captain, a member of the Storm's 1999 premiership team, coach of the NZ world champs. He's a real candidate IMO.
