Steve Folkes v Cherry Mescia

Crippling seaon disturbing hamstring tears caused by squatting to much weight

Mescia 14+
Folkes 0

Mescia for sure.

The massive intense pre-game warm-ups are really counter productive. No wonder we were tanking in the back end of games.

I dont understand this thread…

Nor me.

What is the theme? Is Mescia a better conditioner than Folkes? I think not.

Last year we won so many games because we were fitter than the opposition. Prior to Folkes, we lost so many games at the back end it was not funny.

So what is this thread all about.

Cherry Mescia was our conditioner. He went to the Roosters in 2010\. Steve Folkes got his WT job. In the 4 games that WT played the Roosters last year they came over the top of us at the end if each game. They had fresher legs.

We looked cumbersome against the Eels the other night. I love Folkes as a coach but is he up to it as a trainer these days ?

It was a trial!!!!

exactly, a trial, folkes could still be loading them up, getting some miles in the legs before the season proper starts.
I thought that folkes had us looking pretty fit and well conditioned last year.

Im another one that doesn't understand this thread
Are we debating who is a better conditioner? cause surely your not looking at saturday's game as proof that Folkes isn't up for the task of conditioner.

In 2010 we looked far fitter than previous years & i wouldnt swap Folkes for anyone

Ok that's where the Mescia 4 Folkes nil is coming from.
Well thats about the dumbest thing i have heard.
1st Foundation cup- well who gives a rats about lets face it a trial match
2nd The first time we played them in season proper i recall we where the ones that came home stronger scoring three tries in the last 10 minutes
3rd time was an arm wrestle & there where 2 points in it for the whole game
4th was semi final footy & it see-sawed for 115 minutes

So really i can't see where this is coming from.Very silly thread

Should be closed, dumb.

Yes agree…..cant see the point in this.

The 4th game shouldnt have went for 100 minutes....we got rorted with that scrum feed against the head that got them into a position to kick a field goal in the first place.

Lets just mescia cause he played for the magpies....you happy now.

Mescia is a magpie….....thats the only reason Balmain Bug started this thread.

 You think…..

When we win the comp Bug will be proud just like the rest of us Nutbags... :crazy

Silly thread alright. The Tigers were in hard training right up until the trial on Saturday and it's no surprise at all that they were flat, and I expect they won't be much sharper against the Roosters either. Anyone paying close attention on Saturday could see the Tigers were sitting back against the Eels, fitness had nothing to do with it. It was this way last season as well during the trials and then the Tigers came out and ran over the top of Manly in the second half to kick the season off.

Stick to the topic please people. This isn't a thread where spam or trolling will be tolerated.

Everyone takes it easy in the trials, no point in injuring half your side when two points arent on the line.

Agree with Willow, silly thread. Folkes is recognised along with the best in the game, and I'm pretty sure he knows how to get the best out of the players. That's like comparing Alfie to Andrew Leeds as who is the best trainer… It's a null and void argument.

sorry bug but this thread stinks. who has a better knowledge on first grade football? folkes or cherry? You must be still young, upset at a trial match. but i like you bug all the same. i'd like to buy you a beer one day. One day before we die.
