Folkes gone…..............and we look soft as butter again.

Dragons look super fit, big and mean.

A lot of the senior players didn't want Folkes kept at the club. "Too serious, no fun".

Folkes came here and was always only going to leave for a head coaches job. Yet he went to Saints in the same role. Sheens felt threatened? Senior players didn't push for him to stay.................

This is why the club letting "senior players" dictate whatever they want is a farce.

This is why we are soft.

Where is our fitness we look out on our feet early on!

He wanted a greater role.

Sheens didn't want to give him that and the 'senior players' backed Sheens. Funny that, they always 'back Sheens'. Maybe because none of them have ever been dropped or held accountable for anything?

I posted early in the off season Re job for the boys as a trainer and as I predicted would be a disaster .. An external professional trainer should of been brought in ! Folkes was the biggest loss we have had in 3 seasons make no mistake .. Sheens and the bad old days are back big time!!!!

Losing Folkes ( a tough bloke who takes no crap + a superior fitness trainer) and Gentle (decent tactician and fair) has set us back a lot.

Sheens has let the culture slide back to the "boys club" days. We could lose 20 straight and Moltz-Heighno etc would never see reserve grade.

Who can we recruit? The players DIDN'T WANT him…..........didn't want a "tough nut" who made training "too hard".

Given the "senior players" run the club, we shouldn't even bother with anyone serious in case they don't like him.

Just play touch footy and indoor cricket each session.

You know what's going on Tiger99…..........................not sure if you can answer................but why didn't anyone stop Folkes leaving?

He didn't go to a head coaches job. There was no need for him to be allowed to leave.

He should have been promoted and given more responsibilty.

Sheens felt threated? :unamused:

A club decision. But I think folkesy wanted to be a head coach again

A "club decision" = Sheensy and some senior players. And you know that's true.

He went to Saints to do the same job. It's not like he left and got promoted. If sheens wanted him and promoted him, he'd still be here.

I am really angry about the fact he was let go. He was the only bloke at the club who held people accountable.

Sheens said post match tonight our defense was horrible and we didn't know how to tackle. What a farce….........we let go the bloke who taught them and toughened them up.

Folkesy didn't do much with us defensively. But we were much stronger and fitter I must admit.

Many on here wanted a new coach prior to 2010, now it feels like our current coach has ridden on the coat tails of someone else to secure his job for a bit longer.
