Is sticky the worst coach in history ?

Seriously the Sheens haters had better have a real good look at how bad it can be.

He has absolutely no idea and to top it off comes across as a moron. Sheens does lots of dumb things but nowhere near as many as sticky plus he projects a good image.

Agree.
I dont know what he says to the players in private but in his public statements he comes across as a goose.
Sticky seems to think games can be won by creating a good vibe in camp and dribbling complaints to the media about anything and everything.

Yeah his track record is pretty aweful.

Roosters, Cronulla, Australia, NSW - He has coached some good squads and has been a failure.

The Roosters were a sucess but that team was built by Graeme Murray and must have been very close to being over the cap. As soon as Fitler retired, they went down in a screaming heap.

He was an absolute failure at Cronulla and lost Australia the world cup when they were clearly the best side.

People were screaming from the roof tops after origin 2 that he had pulled off the greatest coaching performance of modern memory - but had he really?

I said after that game that I hadnt seen Queensland play that poorly in years. They looked lethargic and un-interested. The blues got up but if Ingliss had of caught that bomb the series would have been over right there and then. Add that to the fact that Paul Gallen played the greatest MOM performance.. probably ever and it wouldnt be such a stretch to say that Stuart got lucky.

Did he he take that in his stride and improve upon it? You bet he didnt!

He became a prima donna - demanding players stand down from their club committments, he tried to assassinate Meninga through the media, he said Gallen was the best prop in the world despite being outplayed by Scott and Petro in game 1\. He tried to say that Pearce was the worlds best halfback when his opponent clearly owns that title and has worked hard over many years to achieve that ranking. He and that moron Gould just talked absolute crap for 2 weeks straight and their rubbish was taken in and used against them.

Effectively, what he did was make the QLDers apparent underdogs when they had everything to play for on their home turf.

When the boys hit the field last night, QLD were immediately on fire and played at such a high level that no NSW side in history would have been able to contain them in the opening half hour. They were absolutely magnificent.

Stuart and Gould played a role in this. In stark contrast, the side he prepared played well below expectations. They were leaderless and rudderless. It took an uncommon series of fumbles for them to finally score.

People say that NSW have turned a corner….I disagree...the qlders were average in game 1, less than average in game 2 and then when the chips were down they showed just how dominant they are in game three.

I understand that Ricky Stuart was never going to change all in 1 year.

QLD have a culture and a current crop of players that is the envy of any RL team in history. You dont win 5 years (Previously) by fluke.

In life - Some people mock and some people do…

I am very proud of Ricky for getting to a decider when we really wernt of the same standard.

It would interesting to see how much each side is worth at an NRL salary cap level . I think people would be shocked at the difference I think the $ difference would be comparable to the skill difference

you all realise that when we going to sack tim sheens under our old ceo they were talking to ricky stuart i've said it before and i'll say it agin if ricky stuart is EVER the coach of the wests tigers i am a souths fan for the duration of his stay, Nsw needs someone who will instill passion like a laurie daley or andrew johns

He tried to say that Pearce was the worlds best halfback when his opponent clearly owns that title and has worked hard over many years to achieve that ranking. He and that moron Gould just talked absolute crap for 2 weeks straight and their rubbish was taken in and used against them.

I think nsw were ok in origin 1 great in game 2 and definantly not at our best in game 3.Thats the other way of looking at it.

Consider this as well Spartan.

Game 2 included players that Ricky didnt originally want or were unavailable who all contributed to the win. Hayne, Watmough, Lewis, Gidley. Add that to the fact that Stuart didnt allow Soward to play his natural game in game 1 …which is his kicking... and from external pressure relented on this issue which resulted in Jamie playing a far greater role than he did in game 1\. He also took a ridiculous gamble that only paid off as Gallen had a perfect game. He played a starring 10/10\. If he only managed an excellent 9/10 the gamble would have failed. The game was also played in front of an awesomely parochial crowd of near 80 000\. To top all of this off, Queensland put in an uncharacteristically poor performance.

Make no mistake...the stars aligned for game 2.

Game 3 showed us where they are really at.

People are also claiming that Stuart has installed a programme that ensures success for next years series.
This is also rubbish. He had no game plan last night and the team had no answers when the maroons decided to turn it on.

They say that Queensland will be weaker next year. That wont help the blues much. Cronk will go to halfback, JT to 5/8 and bang...theres your Maroons and Kangaroos a combination for the next few years. Petro may retire. Thats a loss but he can be replaced. Look how Matty Scott has stood up over the past 2 campaigns. Someone else will next year. There wont be homeground advantage next year either as the blues have given away one of their home games to Melbourne.

Most importantly...Qld arent done with you yet! They want 7,8 whatever. Its all about humiliation.

We scored 24 points in origin 3, but gave away a cheap points again and gave the qlds arediculous head start. Think Rick did well, and the players stuffed up on the field.

What nonsense, Queensland had a glut of possession and still only just won game 1, and they really turned it on in game 3 to win. After game 2 Ricky was being praised for doing a great job and taking some big risks which paid off, now he's the worst coach in history? Go watch any series from 2007-2010 and watch NSW play and tell me they were better then than now. But hey, we lost again so I guess we should eat our own again.

He's a terrible coach and the figures back that up.
But at the end of the day I dont really care. He has angered me this series and I'm loving the fact he is a loser again.
You guys back him up and I'll see you same bat time, same bat chanel next year to dissect Queenslands 7th straight series win

He's a terrible club coach, I'll give you that, but his rep record isn't that bad. You know what other current rep coach had a terrible club coaching record? Mal Meninga. I'd rather have Sticky coaching the Blues than any of the current NRL coaches. Heck, even at club level he coached teams to 3 consecutive grand finals, and probably would've had a 4th with Cronulla had his star player not gone completely silly and got himself sacked a few weeks out from the finals.

I am of the Sticky Is Crap School of Thought.
IMO the Blues won SOO 2 in spite of Stuart, with players that were not his first choice, which in itself says a lot.

What was the NSW game plan?

"Mateship"?

well he picked galloway and done a sheens ,,, he put him into the game when it was all over …..the blues did a mountain of work and it was obvious a big forward was needed....no on come a former halfback in lewis and another back in gidley .....the horse had bolted when galloway got his chance .....

Stuart has a big mouth , his hypocrisy regarding player selections is breathtaking, his comments regarding Pearce (about being better player than thurston) was plain stupid.

I agree that Ricky's approach to game three left a lot to be desired (the non-naming of the team, the "Pearce is the world's best half" comment, etc). But the douche who keeps his job year after year of failure is Fulton!

Dead set, this guy is a koala.

He has presided over loss after loss after loss after loss and keeps getting a pay packet. WTF????

The same bloke thats coached Bellamy & Meninga

Stuart is rubbish and QLD were once again helped by a glut of possession and crap refereeing.
NSW has the players to beat those bums easily - only problem is we don't pick people who can score points.
