Stop the Excuses and Become a Member

I also believe you strive hard for the things you love, you make it happen, you don't put it in the do hard basket. Every one would be at Wests Tigers games if they truly wanted to be. I would move heaven and Earth to be there. I have missed family Birthdays,Weddings,Funerals and Work to be there. I guess it is about priorities and Wests Tigers are a High priority for me. But i realise Wests Tigers are not a Priority for some.

It's not a case of it being "not a priority" for some. More a case of competing demands. If you choose to miss important family events, fine that's your call. But having a crack at others for choosing otherwise is a bit much. I love the Tigers but family first. And I'm not going to miss a mate's wedding to go to a game. I'm not sure how old you are mate but over time you take on responsibilities. That's not have a go at you because I was like that 10-15 years ago. I went to every home game and a lot of away games because I could. Now I'm married and own a house - my wife works shift work and if she needs me to drive her to and from work that's a higher priority than going to a game.

The Tooth & Yossarian - I lived in Contry NSW about 2 Hours from Sydney.

I am 34 Years Old (1978 Born)

I am Married with 3 Kids (9,7 & 3 Years Old)

I work shifts ,i should have excuses but i do not.I commit,i take my oldest two kids to the footy with me and they love it.When my baby is old enough he will come too.

Life is about choices, i choose wests tigers.

Well there's your answer. Your choice. Others have limited down time and need to do a stack of things. Doesn't make them lesser fans, some of them might spend a stack on merch and go to games where they can.

Frazer, that comes as a surprise. You deserve some credit for the effort, considering where you live. You must be on some good coin to be able to afford it though. Still I dont think you should be criticizing or judging others.

I live and breathe Wests Tigers, regardless of membership or attendance at home games.

Fraze I own more jerseys so going by your logic does that make me more of a supporter then you? I'm a member and yeah I love this club but there is much more to life then Wests tigers

I reckon if it wasn't for the NYC which I enjoy watching, Id rarely go to games, I prefer watching on TV. I get to games depending on my time table each week, whether we are home or away.
I love the tigers, watch every game twice, once is in the thrill of the moment, once with a more analytic eye.

I get to about 10 games a year, and usually a few SG ball games as well, but have never been a member

It's a funny old thing, cos when push comes to shove and everyone's soaped up and winding down, in under the after game showers …
The members and the tools are one and the same.

Fraze, i work at a family business. It is not unusual for me to work 20 odd hour days where i go home, have a shower and bite to eat, sleep for 3 hours and im back at work. One stretch i did an avg of 17hrs a day, 7 days a week for 7 wks. I worked xmas, boxing day, new years day and australia day. This ended up putting me in hospital!
If I have a day off, i dont take a wage. Im still trying to recover financially from my hospital visit in january.
I cant remember the last time i had a holiday. probably my honeymoon in 2004.
If i am not at work i am at the race track as support for my customers.
I dont finish work on a normal day until after a fri or mon game has already started. My saturdays are taken up with sporting commitments where i am the club president, first grade coach and captain. Usual sat is 7am to 7pm. Simply cant make a game in the timeframe.
Sundays are time for me to rest, do work around the house and play with my son when not at a race meet

So, some of us arent as lucky or able as you.
Just dont be so quick to call anyone that doesnt attend a game as not being a supporter. Some of us just simply cannot afford the membership or dont have the time to get to games.

BTW, you would have been sacked a LONG time ago if you worked for me!

I too find the original post to be ignorant and a little immature.
I live 2 hours west of Brisbane, the best I can get is to see The Tigers play the Titans or Broncos once a year. But even that can be a struggle with 2 kids, considering ticket prices, fuel costs and overnight accommodation. 1 game would cost me about the same as a membership, but what do I get out of that membership - pretty much zilch.

My money goes towards Austar. The sports is about the only reason I pay for it but I get more out of that then a membership. I wouldn't blame anyone in Sydney for doing the same.

Frazer4Wests, I appreciate your passion and correct me if I'm wrong but you sound like a young man with very little commitments. I was that once too. Come tell me I have no excuse when you have kids, a mortgage and ever increasing bills to consider.

Tooth … this Frazer bloke is a muppet ,get yourself seen Frazer (you need help).
So living in your world does money grow of the trees in your back yard ? ,
i'm the same as you Tooth living on the Gold Coast get to go to games vs Titans and Broncos , and 1 game a year to Sydney usually Leichardt , i can tell you this year i spent $950.00 in the Tigers shop buying West tigers Jersey's for the whole family and taking the family to games vs Titans and Bulldogs , just because i'm not a member doesn't mean i'm not a die hard supporter like you Frazer , I try and fund the club the best way i can .
People who can't afford a membership or for there own reason can't get to games for financial reason does not make them a lesser supporter than you Frazer.
Your post is very offensive Frazer and let me tell you something : just cause you go to every Tigers game throughout the year doesn't make you a bigger supporter than me or our fellow Tiger supporters on this forum.

Why are people justifying themselves to this clown

He certainly has achieved his goal of having himself as the main talking point in both threads he has created in the last two days

ME ME ME ME…..LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!!!!

As I have indicated previously I am not a Troll & I am definitely not an Attention seeker.

I do have a very different opinion to most of you in relation to your commitment to this Great Club. I am extremely Passionate about my Club, the Wests Tigers and I just wish every single other Wests Tiger supporter or Fan would committed themselves unequivocally to the Cause. No matter what stands in the way?

I hate it that the crowds are greater when we are going well, I hate it that we get 50 + Thousand to a semi final and not a regular season game.

Why can’t we sell out every single game no matter where it is like they do in all 3 tiers of the English Football Leagues? Do the English Football fans have more Passion than us? Or are they just crazy lunatics as well.

I had a silver membership last year, and since my seats have been made into gold seating at LO, I've chosen not to renew my membership. I understand the club has to maximise the revenue at a small venue like LO, but I'm particularly impressed that we weren't really advised that it was to happen.

That, along with the fact I didn't get out to every game last year as I was too ill to go to one game and on two other occasions I had birthdays to attend. I still can't believe they had the audacity to be born on those days… I have quite a few things penciled in for 2013 already which will make it difficult to justify a membership. I will just go to the games as I'm available to attend.

And to be frank Frazer, you've shown in your posts over the last two days what a narrow minded, insensitive and intolerable clown you can come across as...

I'm not renewing for pretty much the same reason… Plus I'm not happy with what has transpired over the past 12 months at the Club.

I will still attend just as many games, spend just as much money, but not as a Member... My protest will be registered!

TBH it probably has a lot to do with the fact that they live in a dump and there is probably not alot else for them to do or look forward too

You really do let the pettiest of issues affect you. It's not particularly healthy.

not all persons want to become a member.
aren't they entitled to do want they want to with their own money?

when you leave this earth, do you really think , being a member or not is going to make any difference?

and yes for the record I am a member, but don't like being told to become a member.
_**my decision, and mine only**_

It boils down to questioning somebodies support. Something that peev's me right off. We all love our club, we just show it in different ways.

I will go against the grain and support the post to a degree.
The catalyst was the fact GWS have more members than us which is embarrassing
There are many forms of membership including non ticketed for those that cannot afford to or cannot make enough games to justify ticketed so surely if you consider yourself passionate coughing up a few dollars to directly support the club is not asking too much. Everyone on here crying poor seems to be able to hook up to the internet.
Yes it is about choice and no one has the right to demand anything from anyone but it would be nice to have comparable numbers to South & St George.
