Just watched this.
Storm won, however….the eels, gutsy performance.
Are they the real deal this year !?
I think so....

Pushed us out of the 8 unfortunately tho.

Sandow's sinbinning was a joke, sending a player off for voicing their (arguably correct) opinion is poor officiating.

apparently he asked the referee how much he was being paid.

idk why the referee thought sin binning was the right punishment?

he directly questioned the ref's integrity- coaches get fined 10K for that and a player gets 10 in the bin?

He is but I glad a ref finally stood up to the way the players talk to them.

In my opinion the refs cop a raw deal should stand up for themselves more

He only asked what 98% of supporters think

That ref is a merkin anyway

League unlimited is that way –--------------->
:crazy

everyone knows C Smith is a cheat- dont see anyone saying that.

refs treat players with enough respect, at least they dont swear at them or anything. refs may not be competent but their integrity should not be questioned.

10 mins in the bin is not enough punishment. hope he gets fined or suspended.

If he did say that he deserved to go.

It is one thing questioning a decision another calling the ref a cheat.

Again though its the inconsistency with this sort of stuff

Harrigan sent Tallis off for calling him a cheat

Yet I can recall Scott Prince when playing for the Titans asking the ref to "take his black and gold jocks off" in a game v the Tigers

Just set a rule and if the players break it send them off , sin bin them , do what you are going to do but be consistent :brick:

if thats true, that's fair enough. bit harsh, but the refs do try their best. they're just not very good, and the crappy system theyve got in place doesnt help either.

Yes, cos theres nothing wrong with implying to a referee in the middle of a game that he's a cheat.

While I had a chuckle at the comment because he's saying what a lot of fans, players and coaches are thinking, it isn't in the best interest of the game to let those sorts of comments slide. Coaches get fined for attacking the referees, so players should face similar sorts of sanctions for attacking referee integrity.

I agree that he should be brought to task for making that kind of comment. However, if the referees are beyond reproach by both the coaches and the players then who are they accountable to? If they aren't accountable then that is the basis for corruption in the game.

well said happy.

imo behaviours like swearing at the umpire/showing dissent/questioning their integrity should be dealt with after the game is over.

I remember Princey saying it as a joke, from memory we had a prop binned and they had their hooker binned and Princey made a joke about it being unfair that we lost a dumb prop and they lost their smart hooker. I think the ref saw the humour in it and let it go.

Should have been sent off in my opinion - not sin binned.
No room in this game for this type of comment.

Agree with the consistency and so therefore we are now reduced to a sin bin.

Not good enough.
