Still feeling a little chilled to the bone after watching The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez and American Murder: The Family Next Door last night.
As an educator of small children, I don't like to recommend these types of docos. They are not for the fainthearted and highly upsetting. Both are disturbing yet also very eye-opening.
The first documentary highlights the failures of child welfare or children's services whilst the second is centered around relationship dynamics.

My wife watched the Family Next Door one. While I can watch documentaries about crime, I prefer ones about bizarre crimes and genuinely interesting people (the Evil Genius documentary about the guy with the collar bomb and the Unabomber for example,) I can't bring myself to watch documentaries like that.

I loathe men who kill their wives and children just because they have a piece on the side and they want out. Not sure what sort of psychology possesses people to think that murder is the first and only option in that sort of scenario.

Took the words out of my mouth.
The Gabriel Fernandez one was horrific,i thought about that for weeks after watching that.
American Murder was terrifying.what a monster that guy was, as the judge said why not just break up with her.

If youre an 80's kid, this series isn't taking itself too seriously at all. Well worth a go. Light hearted stuff.
