Stuart asks players to stand down

If these players are allowed to stand down it will be a joke . Can you imagine what Ricky Stuart would be telling the NSW coach if he was the coach of either Manly or Saint George ,can assure you it would not be yes . But it is silly that Manly v Saints is Monday game though . Just proves the NRL just don't get it Bring on the Independant Commission and bring it on now .

if he wants the players to stand down, then the clubs affected should tell Ricky Stuart that HE CAN PAY THEIR WAGES, for game/s missed.
.
you are a coach, nothing more, nothing less.

Why would any club tolerate losing players for possibly two season games in a row for a game which is essentially of no consequence. Origin doesn't pay these guys yearly salary. The club, their corporate partners and the fans that outlay their hard earned do

Exactly! And losing even just one of those games might be the difference between a team making the finals (or top 4 in the case of St Geo and Manly) and missing them altogether.

Seriously, the importance of SOO is blown way out of proportion by the press and just about everyone involved in the game. The hype that surrounds it almost makes me want to throw up sometimes! Winning a premiership is way more important - it's what all the guys train for and bust their guts for, week in and week out. The fact that many of the players get injured in Origin and then can't play for their club for weeks afterwards is bad enough, without Stuart wanting to elevate it's importance above the real comp. Shoot me down if you like, but I think it's time for SOO to be put to rest. It's an over-hyped, over-rated interruption to the season, imo.
