Wests Tigers have today confirmed the Club’s new leadership group for the 2016 NRL season.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that the 2016 leadership group will consist of ….
Matt Ballin,
Robbie Farah,
Dene Halatau,
Chris Lawrence,
Sauaso Sue,
James Tedesco and Aaron Woods.

But come on- this is a young guy, not that flash with media experience, trying to give media talk instead of saying the wrong thing, trying to be presentable.

So he said "try a bit harder". You COULD take it as Sue doesn't try hard enough, or you could just sit there & accept he could have worded it better.

I don't watch him on the field & go "he doesn't put in". Don't know about the average fan. I don't think any of the squad lacked effort last season.

Happy you know the deal, a Jurno has flowered up a few one line answered from Sue. Its pretty much the meat and potatoes article you get ever off season.

In saying that I commend the club for putting him in the leadership group and I think he could be a standout in 2016 and to accept the beyond blue role is brilliant

Agree CG. There are some very hard markers on this forum - particularly for a young bloke just making his way with the media etc. Surely everyone has been in a position where they think they have given it all - without a successful result - and you say to yourself "I'll just have to try harder".

Ditto, I hope both players can take their game to the next level this season, the team will need them to if they are to be any chance of making the 8.

Awwwww you don't watch enough NRL :wink:. You only bust your ass when it's 12 month to contract renegotiations and then you underpromise and over deliver; aka Jarrod Hayne. A perpetual 60%'er; except when is contract is almost up and then he's scoring in SOO.

I agree however; but wether I was getting paid 100,000 or 500,000, I'm pulling on the Orange Black and White and giving as much as I possibly and physically and mentally capable of.

Thats true, these blokes dont get the fact that the money they earn is so far above the average bloke. Life is so easy for them.

Sue and Ava have been two blokes that have( in my opinion anyway) never quite seem to get above looking ok one week, then dropping back a gear and coasting for the next couple.
I know they're fairly young, but they need to be more consistent if they want to be in first grade on a full time basis
However Jesse may be a good mentor for the younger blokes in the club, and I hope he does well both on and off the field .

Seumanufagai was after Woods our best and most consistent prop last season, he was finally given a chance to play longer minutes. IMHO, he and Woods shall be our starting props.

If the reports are correct then one of the major reasons Tim Grant signed with the Tigers was to play more minutes so I envisage this is only going to be achieved by him and Woods starting rather than Grant being on the bench.

Sometimes young blokes don't know what 100% really is. As you mature you see what other players do and begin to really contribute.
You could be at a club where no one does any extra training and assume that's what everyone does and that's 100%. Some new guy turns up and starts doing all these extras outside of training and it shows you that your interpretation of 100% was way out.
I noticed he mentioned Ballin. A bloke who had rarely missed the finals. Maybe there's a new attitude around the place.
Congrats on the recognition Sue, hope you have a great year.

Happy - I agree with you; however, I'm not sure that Sue is the right target for your comments.

For a start, this is just a puff piece in which Sue is trying to make the right kind of noises. I would not put any credence on the fine detail of the article.

But more importantly, late last year there was an article in the Australian that said that the WT did not train hard enough for Adam Blair and so he organised extra training privately. He asked his team mates if they cared to join him and (from memory) he got only two takers; Jesse Sue and Marty Tapau.

I agree there is a softness to the team generally and the pack in particular, but I don't think this applies to Sue.

I have liked this guy and his attitude ever since I first saw him play the under 20"s or whatever it is they call it these days.
When he was making his way into he top grade there were lots of knockers…..."too small, not good enough etc"
Throughout, I was always impressed by his effort and attitude. Is good to see him as part of the leadership group, he deserves it
