Sue to dogs - Official

We need guys like Sue, he is a fringe first grader for sure, he is not a plodder, however he is a player that wants to play for the Tigers. He keeps pressure on the forwards that are selected in first grade to play at there peak.

When do we start a poll on this guy?

In all seriousness, has had a real good month having found his calling as an impact prob off the bench

I mentioned in another thread, this guy has played 6 first grade quality games in his career at WT. 4 of those in the last month.

Why now?

He’s a bench prop and if he plays like this 1 year with a team option for another. If he leaves so be it. He defensively went nowhere near Papali on the line which is where he lets the team down.

The last 12 months havent been great, but he has something that very few of our forwards have (Drive, Line breaking ability). He has made two cold line breaks the last few weeks, where he has just gone through without the assistance of anyone.

I also disagree with people who say this is his only good month. For a few years there he was dynamic. And all things considered, which forwards can we honestly say have had a better season? Id go as far to say our rise in form in the last month has coincided with his return. Remember, hes hardly played 1s this year. When he has, hes been good.

He is our 3rd or so most valuable forward in my opinion.

Because he hasn’t been hampered by HIA’s?

Huge run over the top
Of defenders then gets stripped of the ball .. this to me describes Sue .. not the player needed for the next step .

He has had some horrific HIAs that I am sure knocked his confidence, which I think he is starting to get back. But It is his goal line defense that has always worried me.

Has always been ok. Really only lost form when moved to second row by Taylor and the beginning of this year.
Was a key part of a great bench in 2014.
Finished last year well. Flattened the Manly pack at liechhardt and was even Geo's avatar.

Honestly, apart from Chee Kam he's been our best forward the past month or so.

His runs are almost automatically 10m and more and he always seems to get a quick play the ball without being put on his back. His runs turn a set that might only make 20-25m to one that gets us 40-50m just from the momentum generated on his hit-up.

Defensively he's been better too I feel, he's making better reads, sticking more and not giving away penalties.

It seems he's turned a corner and is delivering on his promise. It would be a shame to lose him now because he's just hitting his prime at 26 and if he can avoid injury & the head knocks, should continue to improve. He's that perfect damaging runner to bring off the bench for 30 mins a match or so - enough to size to trample over the man in front of him, but the footwork and agility to make players miss and hit holes well.

Deserves another deal imo….those saying give him a one year do, im sure thered be other clubs prepared to give him two

Yeah he's been pretty consistent without visits to the head bin.

Disappointed that he got stripped after that catastrophic run but that's footy I guess.

In the current form Sue >> Matulino > Packer
So, keep Sue and perhaps Matulino, and offer Packer ISP contract
Get:
2-3 aggressive props like Klemmer, Nafa, Boyd, Fanua-Blake, A Paasi

You realise Matulino & Packer are signed to long term deals at top dollar? LOL

…. How can he accept an ISP contract.

Never seen Nafa play
But Napa I think would be a good signing
And off contract
Would add some mongrel to out team and complement packer and matts

I don't know if it's already been linked in this thread but the Mole report of Sue to Dogs was on or about 28 July and on 2 August there was an article about Sue on ZeroTackle in which he said he hadn't signed anything for 2019 - https://www.zerotackle.com/wests-tigers-sauaso-sue-on-his-nrl-future-35259/

So he hasn't necessarily gone to the Bulldogs yet.

Great cover tackle at the end on Rapana too. As said above his goal line defence is a worry, but we've got a couple of other props that stake their claim on defence, I'd happily give Sue another contract and trust Ivan to keep him performing when he doesn't need a new deal.
