Re missed tackles, seems to be less of a concern this year than you might think typical. Sure it could be reduced, but the question is really how many missed tackles led to tries last night? Arguably none, perhaps the MTs on TMM trying to prevent the try.

3 of the current Top 4 - Panthers, Warriors, Tigers - are the Top 3 worst for missed tackles.

So yeah we miss them, but it seems our scramble allows for this.

Tigers also still one of the lowest points conceded sides, likely to be Top 3 or better even after this round.

We are a team that is not the strongest squad in the comp.
Yet we've won almost the same amount of wins so far this year as all of last season.
Whatever we're missing in whatever comparisons anyone wants to look for, we're getting better every game with the players doing one simple thing - simply covering for one another as the best teams always do!

The massive numbers for missed tackles is because we rush up and swarm with our defence. If one or two guys miss a tackle there is already another 3 puling him down within a second.

We missed more tackles against the Storm Rd 2 and conceded 3 times the penalties…

They never threatened us, we should have won by more but bombed a few. I'm happy beating a quality team and coming out of the game thinking they never really looked like scoring.

The thing is theyre not a quality team, _theyve struggled all year_ and yes they never really threatened us, but we only just got home…thats the point

Stoked with the win but a better opposition probably gets us last night, but **WE** improvved a lot on the last 2 weeks

Finally someone sees what I saw.

Imo the Cowboys flattered us, and I'm worried that we only beat them by 8 when they literally handed us the game.
I'm also worried that we've missed 100 tackles in two weeks, 48 of them against a struggling Cowboys side that only had the pill for half a game and threw nothing at us.
While most of you blokes are trying to figure out what constitutes a missed tackle so you can ignore they happened (talk about rose colored glasses! You blokes are putting on rose colored glasses then sticking your heads in the sand.)

If we keep missing 50 tackles a game against struggling teams who aren't completing you'll soon see how 50 missed tackles lead to line breaks and points when we play the good teams.

Like Ink said if we played a team that held the pill and put our D under pressure last night we're looking at 4 loses on the trot, and were all calling for heads to roll.

We're not going as good as you think we are and I'm telling you all now that win masked that fact, they've pulled the wool over your eyes but hopefully not over the Coaches.

Some people need a reality check. You lose 3 in a row you dont come out and blitz a team. it is always a grinding win.

You build for the good looking wins, you dont get them after losing for 3 weeks.

Thats was a very solid win and one we build from.

I don't think our short comings have been missed by many supporters and even more confident that the coaching team and players know where they need to improve as well.

You can only play what's in front of you.

We lost to Knights, Cowboys beat Penrith, we beat Cowboys, Penrith beat the Knights. Go figure.

There's a huge gap between the first 40 at Brookie and patches of last night

we were all over the cowboys in defence. often there was three or four in the tackle. if one of those defenders isn't in a good position to make the tackle but can get close enough to put a bump on to slow the attacker down while the other two wrap him up. That's considered a miss tackle.
the Tigers have been doing that since round one this year…and the opposition have made bugger all line breaks (except the Warriors and the second Parra game).

Yep - great comment. It’s a numbers game. Tigers are using a gang tackle technique and the more bodies you throw, the more misses you’re likely to have. A better stat is perhaps line breaks conceded.
