Sun-Herald Footy Guide Prediction

I imagine most of you guys on this forum would've picked up your Sunday Paper and footy guide only to find that Gus Gould has predicted a minor premiership for the Tigers. Although I am highly confident of a top 4 finish, do you reckon we can take out the minor premiership? I would like to think not as, I'd like to see us peak in September rather than in the regular season, but, if we can keep our full team on the field, I suppose the prospect of a minor premiership is realistic.

Thoughts welcome.

A top 4 finish definitely, we'll need to have some more luck on the injury front I think for a minor premiership. If the 'spine' of our squad can remain on the field and we don't have too many issues with the guys up front, then a minor premiership isn't out of the question.

Why do I feel like we've just been given the kiss of death though?

In all sincerety, I believe the minor premiership will be a hit out between us and St. George. If we have Lui or Moltzen available at any given time for the #7 this year we should come pretty damn close.

I see St. George's defensive line loosening up a little bit with their main workhorse in Jeremy Smith gone, so they may leak a few more points than last season.

I see us finishing second or third.

The Tigers will no doubt be aiming for the top 4 and with the squad they have there's nothing to suggest they cannot win the minor premiership, but it's a long season and anything can happen. I think as long as key players stay fit and healthy then the Tigers should be thereabouts come finals time.

I think we can do it, but lets focus on a good start to the season putting ourselves near the top of the table then work on things from there. September is a long way away

Not sure we have the consisntency to win a minor premiership, we always have that bad month (even when we won the comp we had it), we'll definitely be around the top 4 though.

Expectations are very high around here. A top four finish will do me, as this could be the year when we get finally get SOO representation

I hate putting the kiss of death on us but the effort these boys put it at the back end of last season is bound to install some real belief in the squad. We fell to a hot red favourite Dragons side by 1 point, and there were some vital refereeing decisions, you could say cost us that game.

We are a tight knit squad, all the players talk of this 'family like unity' in the squad, and we have a master coach in Sheens…we just have a real recipe to create something special.

I think we do need to get off to a flyer in the first half of the season, give us breathing space heading into Rep football (I think we'll get hammered there) and then keep a steady momentum heading into July-August through to September.

God I can't wait! Come on you Tigerrrrsssss!

I remember what raps Parra were getting this time last year based on their 2009 charge at the end of the season only to go belly up in 2010\. So Iam very very wary of all these predictions. Call me negative but Iam far from convinced we a shoe in for the top four.

Their is a big chance we will have some disruptions due to rep football and that will not help either. We should get a good idea after the first month but for now nothing would surprise. Like all teams we will plenty of luck

As long as we finish in the top 4 i think we will go on & win the grand final. surley we will have a better run with the refs this year as well.

Am I the only one who believes Rep football will have no effect on Tigers? We have depth everywhere and well I have no faith in the Blues selectors anyways.

IMO Gus is a very smart footy head and I think it's hard to disagree with that. He might be a bit of a pain during commentary but you gotta admit he is very smart. If he tips the Tigers, there is no way I won't.

Rep footy will hurt us, but we will fare okay during origin as we have marquee players who will not be playing in the series (Benji, Gaz).
