The Canberra Raiders and Sunday afternoon football at Leichhardt Oval are the big losers of the 2013 NRL season draw, with Brisbane again the big winners.
Canberra will only feature once on free-to-air TV in the first 20 rounds, while there won't be any Sunday play at Leichhardt.

No Sunday action at iconic Leichhardt Oval prompted Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah to tweet: "No Sunday afternoon game at Leichhardt. #Speechless".

Over the past five seasons, the Tigers' average crowd for Sunday afternoon football at Leichhardt Oval is 18,937, despite the inner-city venue's capacity limited to just over 20,000.
In 2012, the Tigers will use Leichhardt Oval for three Friday night games (round three v Eels, round 11 v Cowboys and round 19 v Warriors) and one Saturday night game against the premiers Melbourne Storm in round 16.
The average crowd for night games at Leichhardt Oval over the past five seasons drops by more than 5000 to 13,243 while the Tigers attract an average crowd of 14,654 at their other main venue, Campbelltown Stadium.
The Raiders' snubbing comes despite the highly entertaining brand of football they played on their surprise run to the semi-finals this year.
Canberra fans will have to wait until the round 16 clash against South Sydney on June 28 at ANZ Stadium to see their team on Channel Nine.
The Raiders were only seen on free-to-air television twice this year before the final series.
Due to their popularity in Queensland, the Broncos will feature on Friday night football in eight of the first 11 rounds.
Manly have also been awarded a curious draw which will infuriate fans, with the 2011 premiers playing in seven Monday night games on Fox Sports in the 20 rounds scheduled.
Penrith and Newcastle are the only two teams that will not feature in Friday night football over the first 20 rounds of competition.
The 2013 season kicks off with a Thursday night fixture between arch rivals Sydney Roosters and South Sydney on March 7\. The first four rounds of the season will feature Thursday night games.
Premiers Melbourne will host Canterbury in the grand final re-match on Thursday, March 21 at AAMI Park.
For the first time the ARLC has released the complete draw for the first 20 rounds of the premiership.
The remaining six rounds will be scheduled at a later date.

What a joke…NO Sunday Footy at Leichhardt?...How did Humpty agree to this?...

I'm glad I haven't renewed my 2013 2 venue season pass yet...on this decision forget it...Friday and Saturday night games dont come anywhere near the convenience or atmosphere of a Sunday arvo game....another DUD decision by the ARLC

How is it Humpty's fault. It's well known that nine and fox choose the games.

We all love Sunday footy anywhere but particularly at leichhardt but at the end of the day there won't be any games there in 2013\. All we can hope is that the team earn a few more Sunday games with there performances next year.

This is a completely moronic decision. I thought the nrl was getting it right last season when they opted for more sydney derbies and so on but this one decision proves they have no idea how to schedule the competition in a way that maximises their potential. I thought there were 2 rules in scheduling. You get the Broncos on a friday night and the Tigers on a sunday arvo - at leichhardt preferably. I'm sure it's largely an oversight but i would like to know what Humpty truly thought about it. He couldn't have been pleased. He should be furious!

Look at the positives, if it's on a Sunday and you can't make it, your watching a replay on nine, other than that nearly every other game in TV is live.

Good to see the Broncos get a favourable draw….again. Really, the NRL should just be done with it and schedule every Broncos game for Suncorp, for all of their 24 games. And maybe have the GF there too if they make it. What a friggin joke, how they don't win the comp every year with the leg-up they get from the draw is laughable.

Dogs have no MNF games

The draw always favours the same teams every year. Geez, I really don't know why they can't just make it fairer to all teams and for all fans. I would much rather more variety of games on Friday nights, instead of having to watch Brisbane every bloody week.

And Monday night games - really? What a waste of time. Half the time I forget they're even on! I thought they were going to scrap them.

Well the 5:30 slot for Melbourne is an afternoon start with all three grades likely for the day.

Sounds great to me

To offset the Broncos monopoly on the Friday Night Footy slot IMO they should not get their 2 byes before Origin games anymore. I mean is there a difference between them missing 7 or 8 players on Origin duty and any other team missing 3 or 4 of their best players for Origin? Not really IMO.

I reckon Monday Night Footy is great Flip - gives you something to look forward to after the first day back at work (just a shame Andy Raymond is part of the commentary team). I hope the NRL stick with it

Its alright for you blokes down south

At least its the second game down their ,its always the main Friday Night game up here

I need a little red button like my Fox remote on my FTA remote

Yeah feel sorry for you up there Happy…it would be all Broncos, Broncos,Broncos in the media up there. The sooner they bring in a 2nd Brisbane team the better.
IMO Broncos home games are mainly pretty boring affairs (the Broncos can't score a try without it being from a bomb) and they are always saturated with home-town refereeing decisions and sickeningly biased and one-eyed commentary.

At least one Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt would have been great! Round 3 v Eels on a Sunday. It would have been standing room only. Much easier to get in and out of LO on a Sunday compared to Friday night. Poor decision.

They could have at least offered the Wests Tigers Club and all its fans a jar of vaseline each after this reaming.
