Wests Tigers have lost talented young five-eighth Curtis Sironen for Sunday’s match against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval.

Sironen will undergo minor knee surgery this week and is expected to miss the next two matches.

Wests Tigers have the bye in round 17 and are hoping Sironen will be fit for selection for the round 18 home match against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium on Friday, July 6.

Bad luck for him and the team!

Looks like we will welcome Sironen and Ellis back the same time though. Ready for a finals run!

Who goes to 5/8 then. Please dont put Lawrence there again. if anything put humble at half or miller and move Benji back to 5/8 for a couple of games.

Spewing spose it means Aysford to 6 & Reddy to bench

Yep most likley but Ryan proved he can play fullback very good Id put him at fullback and move Moltzen to 5/8 can't see it happening though

Wests Tigers five-eighth Curtis Sironen is set to undergo minor knee surgery and is expected to miss two matches.

The teenager has been ruled out of Sunday's clash against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval, with the club confirming his injury on Wednesday.

Wests are hopeful of having Sironen, 18, fit for their Round 18 meeting with the Canterbury Bulldogs on July 6.

Tim Sheens' side face the Newcastle Knights next week before a bye in Round 17.

After a slow start to the season, the Tigers have won seven straight games, including a 10-6 victory over the Melbourne Storm last time out, to sit fourth on the NRL ladder.

Sironen, the son of Tigers great Paul, has impressed since making his NRL debut against the North Queensland Cowboys earlier this season.

Id be happy to see Moltz play 6 with Beau at the back, but am ok with Aysh going to five eight and leaving the rest as is.

After a little more thought,Ive changed my mind, Moltz plays best when allowed to stay in one spot, it takes him time to adjust, soooo, leave him at the back and bring ayshford into 5/8, this is the most likely move anyway

Must be very minor surgery to only miss 2 matches (or 3 weeks). Anyone with some knowledge on knee injuries able to speculate what is being done?

Agree.

Beau is far safer at the back and Moltzen would finally be able to play where he belongs…

This is a great short term fix Beau THE TIGER Ryan owns the fullback jumper ..Two shoes slots in next to Benji no team upheaval required simple ,but wait maybe a little to easy one thinks.

Possibly an arthroscopy - only keyhole and cleans out any minor damage in joint
