TAB NRL 2018 odds

Massive difference between 2005 and now , we had shown lots of promise and the game before they gave us the 150-1 odds was Brisbane , and if we could have held onto the ball in the last 15 minutes we probably would have 50-44

Our draw was extremely favourable bar the Melbourne game in 2005

I'm not saying we aren't worth a lazy small bet but we really need to se something first don't we

I'm not a betting man, but it doesn't surprise me given the change over of players and coaches.

But the number crunchers don't always get it right. I think we are going to be the surprise package this coming year.

The people who set these boards don’t do it with their hearts, they do it by looking at each team and ranking them. Okay every year there are bolters and crashers, but If I was setting a board I would also have them close to the bottom, when you compare our squad with most others it falls behind them. Iam not writing them off, but with nothing to go off except looking at rosters I think the ranking is about right

100% right.

TAB do not make markets to goad punters.

They make markets to make money.

Well sometimes goading punters and making money come from the same activity. Bookies need to make odds enticing enough to get punters in, especially with the number of online bookmakers now. If your odds are eternally stingy then you won't generate the business.

Sometimes bookies also run special juicy odds or deals to draw in punters, especially during lead-ins to peak periods like Spring Carnival and the opening rounds of the footy season. Sportsbet for example tend to run the first 6 or so weeks of NRL with money-back deals on teams leading or first try scorers who score at any time.

So in reality Tigers are $1001 to win the comp in 2018 but that's too risky, whereas $25/1 is too conservative. Should we be next to last in the betting? Prob not but that's only an opinion.

:roll i love it u put manly last…..very thoughtful

Of course the squad is last on the line betting.
It has completely been revamped after losing its top three players, is totaly unproven and has a tough draw.
Will it remain last on line by round 14? I doubt it but we'll soon see.

We're 7/2 for top 8….when you consider that covers 1st thru to 8th and all in between ...that might be a better bet

that's a good bet, it's been close to 8 years since we made the 8\. We're due!

I noticed Ladbrokes have us at $4 to make the 8\. I put a little bit on that. If the odds after the first five games go upwards towards $8 …to make the 8 ...I'll put a bit more on.

I can remember the Tigers being something like 150 to 1 in 2005, thanks very much TAB, I was a very happy Tigers supporter come the end of the season .. !!

I got on them at 81-1 that year, never forget turning my room over the find the bloody ticket.

Anyone keen to have a wager with me I'm offering double what the tab or any betting agency is offering.
I offer this every year but no body wants to take me up on it, despite how much they want to "talk" up our chances, i wonder why?

I see the TAB has the Tigers last on the line of betting for 2018 at $51..

The warriors, dogs, Rabbits are ahead of us at $41, $34, $19!..

Even the basket case raiders are $15.Wow…I can't believe we are rated so lowly.

Spewing....

Lol we are $81 now.

We are a bottom 4 side this year and the next few years.

We have paid overs for a hodge podge of average players who will enjoy their pay packets.

Answer This one (Without Flaming me)

Which player in our current squad would a non tiger really want to play with. in 2019.

Im hoping Coach Cleary can create something that is not embarrassing in 2018

Spartan - I hear what you are stating but I also think that we have players across the park and in reserves who can contribute. Chee-Kam for instance isn't being picked anywhere in the team and he has had a couple of solid performances.

ET is a great player. He is the sort of player that will just do his job well. I'm hoping that we have a bunch of players like that along with some power players like Aloiai, Nofo, Fonua, Suli and possibly even Milne to add to hopefully players like Brooks, Tui, Liddle and Reynolds who can all make a bust.

I honestly don't know how the team is going to gel. It's very different to the last couple of seasons where we've had plenty of top end talent but those guys often didn't really do the job for us.

I was paid out earlier when I said we could go good or bad however I think we won't know until next season.

Agree Earl.

Love for the Tiger should never be in question of 98%of the people here, Who logs onto a fan forum otherwise.

The new player Gel / Motivation factor coupled with resilience of the group is the source of my bad feeling.

I really hope we jag a few wins in the first 8 weeks of the terribly difficult start to the 2018 season that we have. This will define the year and see if the Bookies are right.
